(Honolulu, HI) – In an effort to assist Hawaii youth soccer clubs and help expose talented youth soccer players to domestic and international competition, the Major Island Soccer Organization (MISO) has launched a new youth soccer development and identification program in Hawaii called MISO Elite.

MISO Elite will identify highly skilled youth soccer players through league/tournament performance and recommendations from scouts and soccer coaches throughout the state. The Program will provide these athletes with a yearlong high level evaluation environment to improve their exposure and create opportunities to compete with mainland USA players that have access to high level National Leagues. Pools of players will be chosen for training exposure and eventual Hawaii teams will be chosen to compete against top American talent.

“There is so much amazing soccer talent in the state of Hawaii,” said Tom Atencio MISO Elite Executive Director and 10 year US Club Soccer National Board Member. “Our vision is to provide a pathway to assist youth soccer clubs and provide options to young soccer players in Hawaii with identification opportunities for College, Pro, National and International consideration.”

Selected MISO Elite players will be evaluated to represent USClub Soccer id2 teams. Selected team players and pool players will be ‘tracked’ for possible inclusion in USA and International Youth Programs.

“We are excited to offer a new identification program in Hawaii,” said Sergio Bolioli, MISO Juniors league founder. “We are so fortunate in Hawaii to be able to play soccer all year long. Our program will be looking to give the best soccer players in the state an opportunity to compete and train year-round against the best players in Hawaii. Players will be evaluated for mainland USClub Soccer Player Development Program ‘PDP’ competition and International competition”. Future consideration will include 2009 boys and girls.

MISO Elite will be open to boys and girls 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Programs will vary based on age. More information coming soon.
