MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR

You may notice something new around our buildings. Small cameras have been installed at the exterior entrances of the church and parish hall.

This wasn’t a decision made out of fear, but out of care. As stewards of this place, we have a responsibility not only to open our doors wide in welcome, but also to pay attention to how we care for what’s inside those doors. After thoughtful conversation, the vestry voted unanimously to move forward with installing cameras as a way of gently strengthening our awareness and preparedness.

These are not monitored security cameras. They are motion-activated and only reviewed in specific situations, like checking a building before entering or if there were ever signs of vandalism. Access to the footage is limited to just me and Tam, our parish administrator, and Glenn, our property guru.

We’ll always be a church that values openness and hospitality. These cameras are simply one of the quiet ways we continue caring for this sacred space and all who pass through it.

On an exciting note, this Sunday we will celebrate yet another baptism at the 10:30am service, welcoming Henry Alexander Grahame into our community. It has been a while since we've had an infant baptism, so start preparing yourselves now for the extra dose of cuteness!

P.S. A memorial service for Jack Jolie will be held this Saturday at 11am. Jack was a dedicated member here in the late 1990's and always considered All Saints his spiritual home. Also, I’ll be out of town for a brief trip Monday and Tuesday, but will return and be back in the office by Wednesday morning.

Mold Found in Lower Parish

After the recent stretch of heavy rain and high humidity, some surface mold was found on the baseboard of the side wall in the lower parish—it has been cleaned and treated. A dehumidifier has been placed in the room, and we’ve lowered the temperature to help reduce further spread.

We think this surface mold is probably a symptom of a larger issue, so while this is not a long-term solution, our Property Warden and buildings team are already planning next steps. For now, we simply want everyone to be aware. If you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Sundays Make Sense!



Join us for a special three-week children’s series designed to help kids engage more deeply with worship! Each session explores different aspects of church—from the liturgy, to sacred symbols, to how kids can participate and lead.

Upstairs Parish Hall

This is a fun and hands-on experience perfect for elementary-age children. Come to one, two, or all three—no signup necessary! All are welcome.

A Joyful Parish Picnic at the Rectory!

Last Friday’s parish picnic was a beautiful reminder of what makes our community so special—good food, laughter, shared stories, and time spent together. From burgers on the grill to games in the yard, full plates to full hearts, we were surrounded by love, connection, and a whole lot of joy (and a few happy dogs, too!).

Thank you to everyone who brought food, helped with setup and cleanup, and simply showed up to make the day what it was. Whether you were flipping burgers, playing cornhole, or just relaxing in a lawn chair with friends—you were part of the grace.

We’re grateful for days like this, and even more thankful for this community we call church.

Join us for a series of LGBTQ+ information classes, led by Father Andrew. The series will consist of four classes on consecutive Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., beginning the third week of July (July 16, 23, 30, and August 6th) in the Parish Hall. ECW Updates

Our next meeting will be on August 16th at 9:00 a.m. in the upstairs parish hall. Have a great summer!

Last week, we posted information about what the ECW is “technically” responsible for in our parish. However, there is more to the ECW, and it is time, before we begin the next program year, to decide on other ways we can and will be active in the parish and community. Now is the time to think about the following:

---ways to increase fellowship for the women in the church

---ways to get to know each other better - building strong relationships with each other

---how do we want to use the money we earn through our successful fundraisers?

---are there service-oriented projects that we would like to coordinate or participate in?

Come and join us at our next meeting (8/16) and help us answer these critical questions. Do you have a passion project that would be a good fit for the ECW? Do you have ideas that you have thought of in the past, but never had a chance to bring them to the table for consideration? We would love to hear your ideas and thoughts as we plan for the 2025-26 program year and beyond. We are excited to see you there.

All parish women are welcome to join us in our mission to serve the parish and community. Whether you can attend our monthly meetings (held on the third Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. in the parish hall) or not, we invite you to get involved. Contact Jill Dowell at (443) 610-5294 to find an ECW mission that meets your passion!

The crafting/needlework group will be meeting in person next week, Thursday, July 31st from 1 - 2:30 pm in the parish hall lounge. Please RSVP by July 30th to let me know if you plan to come so I am not sitting in the lounge by myself. I will send an email to the group on Thursday morning to let the group know if there are at least 2 of us attending.

The Men's Breakfast is always the first Saturday of every month at 9:00 am at Traders Restaurant in Chesapeake Beach. Jim Thrift, our convener, will be in attendance setting up the room before 9:00. The breakfasts are for all Christian men for fellowship and fun. We discuss most everything except religion. Plan to attend and bring a friend as all are welcome, especially newcomers. If you attend you'll have fun, if you don't, we'll talk about you.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES IN THE SOMD REGION

This is a friendly reminder that our regional picnic is scheduled for Sunday, August 3. That date is approaching quickly, and so is the RSVP deadline. As of this past Tuesday, two people across the region RSVPed. Hopefully, you are planning to join us at Kings Landing Park and have just forgotten to RSVP to Father Andrew+. 

Take some time today (or Sunday morning at church) to invite fellow parishioners personally. With all our parishes combined, we should be able to FILL UP THE PARK with fun, food, and fellowship! Father Andrew+ will be waiting for your RSVPs at allsaints1692rector@gmail.com between now and Sunday.

Jazz Night at St. Paul’s in Prince Frederick

On Friday, July 25, at 7 p.m., please join us for an elegant evening of music, food, and fun featuring Susan and Jim Yoe and friends. Advance tickets will be $35 per person, or $40 at the door. Tables of six may be purchased for $150. Food will be served (hors d’oeuvres and desserts), and proceeds will go towards the refurbishment of our handbell set (any proceeds beyond what is needed will go to St. Paul’s general fund). Credit card purchases or donations can be made through our QR code (see below), or you may pay with a check made payable to St. Paul’s. All are invited to attend!
