For many, the holidays are centered around family time and traditions. The team at Jellison wanted to share some of their special holiday traditions.

From Carrie:

Happy Nutroll!

Our family Christmas tradition has been passed down from my mom’s grandmother. My mom has passed down this recipe to her children and in turn we are now passing it down to our children. Each year the ladies get together to make this family recipe. This year, we included the guys as well. As you can see from the picture, we had a full house and made 28 Nutrolls to be enjoyed over the Holiday season.

From our home to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season!

From Kaitlyn:

This year we are looking forward to Christmas Eve dinner with my in-laws, Christmas morning at home with the girls, and Christmas brunch with my family. Our tradition is to have homemade sticky buns Christmas morning.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

From Tim:

Our tradition is simply speading time together. With our busy schedules, and a teenager, a few days of family time is priceless.

Merry Christmas!

From Renee:

Happy Holidays!

I want to wish you all warm greetings, happy holidays, and a happy new year. Some of the traditions I enjoy this time of year are decorating my house, watching Christmas movies, visiting with family and friends, and attending the Dickens Festival in Holly (which just celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023). If you have never been to the Holly Dickens Festival, I highly recommend as it is a great time for kids and adults.

I reside in Holly with my husband James and rescue dog Teddy who we adopted in 2024. Teddy is a pit bull mix who loves to chew on things, especially socks, and curl up in my lap to watch movies. He is a sweet boy who always rushes to greet me when I get home and loves belly rubs. I have been married to my husband for five years and we enjoy hiking, golfing, spending time outside and traveling. This year we were able to visit Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and really enjoyed the experience.

I love this time of year and the joy it brings. Wishing you all the best and looking forward to a prosperous 2025.

From Lindsey:

Our favorite holiday tradition is our family cookie weekend. Some years we’ve made more than 20 different kinds of cookies. We share them with family and friends, but still have more cookies than we know what to do with. This will be Ada’s first year helping in the kitchen as our little “taste tester.” She is almost two now and is at such a fun stage. We love watching her experience the holidays and we are so excited to see her reaction on Christmas morning this year. She’s loving snow so far, so we are hoping for a white Christmas!

Pictured here is me, my husband John, and our first addition to our small family due in April! This of course makes this a very special Christmas and the last year we will be celebrating as a family of two!

Every year after Thanksgiving, we go to Broadview farms with my family to pick out the perfect Christmas tree. It always takes a minimum of 1 hour and at least 3,000 steps to find one suitable but we get there eventually! John and I then put on some Christmas music, pour ourselves some eggnog, and proceed to wrap it up in a frankly absurd amount of lights (somehow we acquire more strands every year). We absolutely can’t wait for next year when we’ll have a little one to “help” us!

A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all from the Smith Family!

From Kim:

This photo is from our family’s summer vacation to Ireland. We were at the Cliffs of Mohr on the west coast of the country. (Despite the cloudy day it was really bright as you can see from our squinty eyes!)

One of my favorite holiday traditions is to do something “festive” with the kids. We have done things like Greenfield Village, Detroit Zoo, Fox Theater for the Nutcracker, and Glenlore Trails. This year we are going to Crossroad Village. It is a special time that we get to have, enjoying the sights and sounds of the holidays.

I hope you get to spend some time with your loved ones sharing in your favorite traditions! Happy Holidays!!
