Please congratulate the newest members of our board of directors, Dr. Carolyn McClenny and Felipe Saboya. Both individuals come to us with a wealth of knowledge. See their bios are on below.
Carolyn is a college professor and consultant in education. She began her career in education at age 14, volunteering in a residential school for children with multiple disabilities. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of North Carolina, and PhD from Florida State University in Reading and Language Arts Education. She has enjoyed many years of experience in serving the needs of students with speech, language, and literacy difficulties, leading academic units that support the learning needs of struggling K-12 and post-secondary students, and coaching teachers. Her commitment to classical education began when exploring options for her own children, deciding to homeschool them in this tradition during their early learning years as there were no classical schools in the area.
Felipe Saboya brings experience in finance and management practice areas. He graduated as an accountant major from the University of South Florida and became a licensed CPA in the state of Florida. His work experience includes Ernst and Young, BDO and is now a partner in his own firm. Felipe and his wife, Renee, have two children and reside in the Parrish area.
