June Membership Meeting / 51st Annual Spring Conference
The Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) held its Regular Membership meeting on June 7, 2023, at the Abbey Resort in Fontana, Wisconsin. The meeting was held during the Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) 51st Annual Spring Conference. Over 85 registered for the Conference. This was the first time the Abbey Resort venue, as well as the Abbey Springs, were used for this Conference.
Highlights of the Membership Meeting, include the following: President Fimbianti presented Stefan Lopata, Kelso-Burnett Co, the “2023 ECA Award of Excellence.” President Fimbianti also presented Rick Jamerson, Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors, Inc., with a “Skyline Plaque,” as well as a generous travel voucher to acknowledge Mr. Jamerson’s previous term as ECA President. Ten golf prizes were given to close out the session.
The presentation by Phil Gwoke, Bridgeworks, called, "Facilitating Knowledge Transfer: Fostering Effective Mentorship Between Experience and Emerging Professionals," was well received.

The Young Professionals of ECA (Electrical Contractors' Association) of Chicago had a fantastic time on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Impact Field, home of the Chicago Dogs baseball team. The evening was filled with learning, networking, ballpark food, and baseball!
The event started off at 5 pm with a captivating Technical Software/Hardware presentation by Jack Forrest from Trimble and Nick Dionne from BuildingPoint Midwest. As the members gathered, Jack and Nick delved into the world of innovative solutions that can improve the efficiency of construction projects from start to finish. Their presentation showcased how technology can seamlessly connect the office and the field, enabling enhanced collaboration and efficiency throughout construction.

NECA Safety Professionals Institute
Designed for new safety professionals in the EC industry, this program provides participants with the “must-know” topics for those responsible for keeping our workers safe. NECA recognizes that health and safety is a “Shared Responsibility” between employers and employees and provides this training for awareness and to help reduce incidents, injuries, and fatalities through an established Safety Management System, adaptable for all organizations. Applications for the NECA Safety Professionals Institute will be processed on a first-come basis, and attendance is limited. The registration deadline for this program is August 1, 2023. Chapter Convention Stipend
The ECA Executive Committee approved the educational stipends of the Registration fees for up to two representatives and their guest and/or spouse, if applicable, of participating ECA member firms for the NECA Convention on September 29 – October 2, 2023. The Executive Committee also approved an additional stipend of $1,000.00 per applicable attendee’s room block utilization for the NECA Convention & Trade Show to offset the room night cost increase with the Four Seasons Philadelphia Hotel.
