The Work Before Us

As we step into 2026, Kaleen reflects on a year that asked a great deal of Catholic Charities of Oregon and the communities we serve. In the face of funding uncertainty, shifting political priorities, and rising need, our commitment never wavered, and neither did the impact of this work.

From helping prevent evictions and keep utilities on, to providing dignified food access and stable housing, Kaleen shares how last year’s efforts translated into real stability for individuals and families across our programs. She also looks ahead to how we are strengthening our funding, programs, and teams to meet what comes next with resilience, purpose, and hope.

Voices of Hope

Meet Breanna, a lifelong Oregonian whose path led her to Catholic Charities of Oregon in search of meaningful work and community impact.

In this Voices of Hope feature, she shares what drew her here, what inspires her daily, and why dignity and belonging are at the heart of everything we do.

The Celebration of Hope is more than a gala. This blog shares why gathering on Feb. 20, 2026 matters in this moment, how hope becomes action, and why your presence helps sustain our mission.

When we talk about homelessness, the numbers rarely tell the full story. In this blog, we explore what shelter data really means, why longer stays can signal deeper support, and how Kenton Women’s Village helps women move toward lasting stability.

Winter Food Drive is ON

From Feb. 23-March 23, Catholic Charities of Oregon will host a Winter Food Drive to support our neighbors facing ongoing food insecurity. With rising costs and continued uncertainty around food assistance programs, many families experience the greatest strain well after the holiday season ends.

Parishes, businesses, and community organizations interested in hosting a food collection are invited to participate. Please contact Gina Binole at gbinole@ccoregon.org to get involved and receive materials.

CCO Joins Dear Portland Immersive Housing Exhibit

Catholic Charities of Oregon is proud to be part of Dear Portland, a new immersive exhibition by Humans for Housing that centers human stories and data from Portland’s ongoing housing crisis. The free public exhibition opens Feb. 7 at Stelo Arts in Old Town and runs through April 9.

CCO will host the exhibit on March 6 from 3–6 p.m. We invite our community to join us, engage with the stories, and reflect on the work ahead. Mark your calendars and plan to attend. Get tickets.
