Ross Valley Sanitary District proposes new rates, Public Hearing in May

The RVSD Board of Directors will hold a Public Hearing on Proposed Rates for Sewer Service Charges in May sometime to adopt new Sewer Service Charges. You can view the proposed rates and learn more on RVSD’s website

Ross Valley Sanitary District collects a Sewer Service Charge on each property that is connected to the District’s sewer system. Property owners receive the annual sewer service charge on their property tax bill, which is collected by Marin County and appears on Marin County Property Tax Statements.

Mosquito look-alikes out in force

As temperatures rise, the Mosquito and Vector Control District is fielding numerous reports of swarms resembling mosquitoes in local neighborhoods and along bike paths. These pests are actually non-biting midges, often mistaken for mosquitoes due to their appearance and swarming behavior. Though not harmful, midges can be a nuisance, especially near water sources.

During peak times, midges can blanket homes and vehicles, congregating around lights and vegetation. Fortunately, they are short-lived and harmless. To deter them, consider moving outdoor lights away from entrances, avoiding bug zappers, and using yellow or sodium vapor lights.

For more information and tips, visit our website: District Website.
