Planning Commission Development Updates

We previously shared an opportunity earlier this month within the District K Newsletter to stay engaged and have your voice heard on specific developments happening in and around our community. Residents were encouraged to stay informed regarding the proposed development near the Lakeview RV Resort and Brentwood community.

The Houston Planning Commission held a public hearing concerning Plat Application 2026-0678, Wildcat Industrial, for property located at 222 Holmes Road between Hiram Clarke Road and Buffalo Speedway.

The meeting, held Thursday, May 28, 2026 in the City Hall Annex Council Chamber located at 900 Bagby St. in Houston, Texas, included

property owners within 300 feet of the proposed plat in accordance with Chapter 42 of the City of Houston Code of Ordinances.

Be advised that Mayor Pro Tem Castex-Tatum has submitted a request to Houston Public Works to assist with expediting a request that the developer conducts a geotechnical (geo-tech) survey, an independent environmental assessment along with a contamination testing based on the history of the property at 300 Holmes Road, Houston, TX, if not already done.

The proposed variance request seen below involves changes to planned street connectivity within the development area. Community input remains an important part of the planning process, and residents are encouraged to review the proposal and participate in the public hearing if interested.
