The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) Regular Membership Meeting for September was a luncheon session held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Shaw's Crab House in Schaumburg, IL. The program featured industry updates, an Association special acknowledgement, a welcome to a new ECA staff member, and guest presentations by Chris Nybo, ECA State Lobbyist and Harry Benton, Illinois State Representative, 97th District.

2025 NECA Convention & Trade Show
September 12 - 15, 2025

The NECA Convention & Trade Show was held in Chicago on September 12 - 15, 2025. The Chapter had over 90 registrants for the Convention, along with numerous Trade Show only attendees. This was the largest NECA Convention with over 10,000 registrants. The Chapter had numerous activities.

The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) and the Northeastern Illinois Chapter of NECA co-sponsored a seminar called, "Mental Health / Suicide Prevention." The session was held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the NECA-IBEW Technical Institute (INTECH) in Alsip, IL. Matt Blair, CEO & Co-Founder of The Well Resource Center, NFP was the presenter. Over 25 attendees were present for this program.

The Illinois Green Alliance (formerly the Illinois Chapter of the US Green Building Council – USGBC) held their “Getting to Zero Tech Forum” and “Limelight & Emerald Award Ceremony” on Thursday, September 25, 2025 mHub in Chicago. Powering Chicago has been a sustaining sponsor for a number of years. The ECA looks forward to continue working with the Illinois Green Alliance to help inform members in regard to innovations in green building design, technology, and innovation in Illinois.

Successful execution of all projects, regardless of size, requires proper planning to ensure project profitability. There are a variety of tools and techniques that contractors of all sizes can use to successfully plan their projects. This course will review common forms of schedules, the impact of schedule changes and how to use the schedule to manage the project.
Following this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify scheduling best practices
- Create and differentiate between several different types of project schedules
- Discuss the relationship between the schedule and project management
- Discuss the importance of preplanning
- Identify planning strategies to improve productivity
