ECA Participates in Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago
April 29, 2023
The Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) joined forces with Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago for National Rebuilding Day on Saturday, April 29, 2023. This annual event brought together community leaders, trade unions, service clubs, companies, and volunteers to repair and improve homes and neighborhoods in communities across Chicagoland.
Chicago’s Mayor-Elect, Brandon Johnson, kicked off the event in the Englewood neighborhood. At the same time, Blue Island Mayor Fred Bilotto started things in Blue Island, IL, where more than 1,500 volunteers partnered with the community to repair and improve 75 homes.

ECA's DEI Workshop Series Concludes -
May 16, 2023
The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its final installment of the DEI Workshop Series presented by Alex Willis on May 16, 2023. This program illustrated how a DEI strategy works while also providing a step-by-step approach on what to do, who is the champion to carry it out, and why you need to do this now to achieve a culture of belonging at your company.
The DEI Workshop Series was a 6-month program that provided practical insights and strategies for building an inclusive workplace. Highlighting the need for organizations to proactively address biases, establish equitable policies and practices, and promote diverse representation at all levels.
We want to thank Alex Willis for putting on an excellent program leaving attendees with an understanding of the importance of DEI and the tools to effect meaningful change within their organizations!

ECA Participates in the 4th Annual Cowboy Shootout -
May 19, 2023
The Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) had the pleasure of participating in and sponsoring the 4th annual Cowboy Shootout on May 19, 2023, at the Halter Wildlife Inc. This annual event supports The Well Resource Center, a vital organization that assists first responders and their families on the Northwest side of Chicago by providing safe and trusted environments of community support.
The Cowboy Shootout was an action-packed day featuring a series of competitions designed to test the participants' marksmanship, speed, and agility. Cowboys and cowgirls showcased their shooting skills in various categories, including pistol duels, mounted shooting, archery, and axe-throwing challenges.

The 2023 Business Development Conference was held in Nashville, TN, from May 21-23, 2023. The conference focused on empowering members with the expertise, resources, and innovative strategies needed to succeed in a dynamic and ever-evolving business landscape.

NECA Safety Professionals Institute
Designed for new safety professionals in the EC industry, this program provides participants with the “must know” topics for those responsible for keeping our workers safe. NECA recognizes that health and safety is a “Shared Responsibility” between employers and employees and provides this training for awareness and to help reduce incidents, injuries, and fatalities through an established Safety Management System, adaptable for all organizations. Applications for the NECA Safety Professionals Institute will be processed on a first-come basis and attendance is limited. The registration deadline for this program is August 1, 2023. NECA Safety Professionals Conference
The NECA Safety Professionals Conference (NSPC) was open to all NECA Members, IBEW and electrical training Alliance members. The program was held May 24 - 26, 2023 in Nashville, TN. Conference attendees experienced three days of keynotes and breakout sessions from industry leaders and safety experts.
