VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)

In 2025 alone, we saved 469 local residents $470,000 through our VITA Tax Program. This program allows our community members (especially disabled, low income, or elderly) to receive free tax preparation so they can max out their return while minimizing work done on their end. If you or someone you know could use this service, it is now open and you can call 211 to schedule an appointment. If you prefer to do your taxes yourself, click the link below for a quick way to file.

Hit for Hope

Our annual Hit for Hope Tunica-Biloxi Governor's Cup is a golf tournament to help raise funds for UWCL in partnership with the Tunica-Biloxi tribe and Paragon Casino. We collaborate with food and drink vendors and give away prizes to winning golf teams to make it a fun time for everyone!

Long Drive Pro Monica Borowicz (pictured below) came out to play, lending her expertise and time to help raise money for our families.

Back to School Uniform Drives

Last year, we attended a multitude of back-to-school bashes and drives, providing headphones, uniforms, swag and program information for the parents.

A Happy Holiday!

At the Alexandria Rotary's Doll and Toy Event, we were so honored to partner with them and donate age-appropriate books for hundreds of attendees.

This event was especially unique as the kids got to pick what they wanted to have - no books gone to waste here! Our Education Coordinator Toni Clegg (pictured) had a fun time suggesting different books for all the kids that came up to our table.

Our annual Christmas for ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) event is always a jolly good time! We know the holidays can be quite stressful for anyone, especially our working-class families just trying to keep their heads above water. Sponsored by Regions Bank, we partnered with Play CenLA for the location and were able to give out bikes (donated by WasteConnect), toys, and scooters to over 50 families. Angie's Piece-a-Cake catered a good, hot meal for all of our attendees that surely went appreciated!
