Record number of students graduate from Mesa Community College's Empire Southwest ThinkBIG Technician program

A record 36 students earned Associate in Applied Science degrees from Mesa Community College (MCC) in 2026 while participating in Empire Southwest’s highly competitive ThinkBIG apprenticeship program. This marks the largest graduating class in the program’s history, launching in August 2003 and celebrating its first graduating class in 2005. MCC is the only Arizona college partnering in the ThinkBIG program with Empire Southwest, the Caterpillar dealer for Arizona, Nevada and parts of southeastern California.

Local high schools are invited to share the best work in visual arts from their students during the 2025-26 academic year. This exhibit includes artworks in all mediums, two-dimensional and three-dimensional. Exceptional works are recognized through scholarship awards applied towards a fine art, digital art or fashion design program at Mesa Community College.


This year's participating schools include BASIS Ahwatukee, Chandler High, Corona Del Sol High, Dobson High, East Valley Academy, Higley High, Highland High, Hamilton High, Leading Edge Academy, Marcos de Niza High, Mesa High, McClintock High, Mountain Pointe High, New School for the Arts & Academics, Red Mountain High, and Tempe High.
