Stronger Together
The New York State Nurses Association initiated its planned strike earlier this morning, which is scheduled to conclude at 7 a.m. tomorrow, Dec. 2. This is a deeply painful day for all of us. Albany Med sincerely thanks its nursing colleagues who reported to work today, and we look forward to welcoming back our valued colleagues who are absent. We also thank each and every member of our workforce who chose to continue serving our community today. Together, we remain committed to our mission of bringing the best possible care, research and education to our region—at a time when it has never mattered more.

For four decades, the Melodies of Christmas concerts and the Dancing in the Woods gala have raised critical funds to support the care and programs of the Melodies Center. Without these events, as they have traditionally been presented, Albany Med is challenged to close a significant financial gap of $500,000 by year’s end—a need that has spurred a new fundraising initiative. Please consider supporting and spreading the word about the Miracles Happen Through Melodies campaign.
