UPPER SCHOOL WELCOMES NEW SCIENCE TEACHERS

Holy Trinity is excited to announce the addition of two new faculty to the Upper School Science department. A big Tigers welcome to Dr. Alina Stimmell, Biology, and Mrs. Amy Popp, Chemistry. Read about these talented educators below.

Born and raised in Port St. John, Dr. Stimmell recently returned to Brevard County from Tallahassee where she was a visiting faculty member at Florida State University. She brings multiple years of teaching experience earned both while working on and after completion of her doctorate degree. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology and her doctorate in Neuroscience. She loves all areas of science and designs many hands-on lessons and labs to engage her students and ignite their curiosity. Her favorite areas include Genetics and DNA.

Mrs. Popp relocated to Brevard County a little over a year ago. She brings 13 years of Chemistry teaching experience to HT, most recently from an independent school in Baltimore, MD. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry while playing D3 field hockey and her master’s degree in Secondary Science Education. She has taught Chemistry, Chemistry Honors, and AP Chemistry, and was the Science Department Chair. In addition to her role in the classroom, Mrs. Popp also assisted with academic advising and worked with student athletes at the varsity level in girls field hockey and swimming.
