Important Update for Michigan Residents: New IRS Address for Estimated Tax Payments

Without making a formal announcement, the IRS recently closed its Cincinnati, OH lockbox location — a common destination for estimated tax payments.

What This Means for You:

The address listed on your filing instructions for mailing federal quarterly estimated tax payments included with your personal tax return is no longer valid.

Going forward, please mail your federal estimated tax payments to:

Charlotte, NC 28201-1300

Already Sent Your Q3 or Q4 2025 Payment to Cincinnati?

No need to resend. The U.S. Postal Service will forward your payment to the correct address, though some delays may occur. We recommend monitoring your bank account to confirm the payment clears.
