California State Association of Counties Annual Conference (CSAC)

During this year’s CSAC Annual Conference I enjoyed conversations with County Supervisors from throughout California on a range of difficult policy decisions facing our communities. Crime and justice, housing, drought, mental health, homelessness, leadership challenges and opportunities are just a few of the myriad of topics discussed. Please click here to view a brief clip of remarks I provided at the conference.
Clarksburg Lighting Assessment District

At our November 23rd Board of Supervisors meeting, we held a Proposition 218 public hearing for the Clarksburg Lighting Assessment District to approve an assessment increase for street lighting services. As a result, the ballots received from property owners were tabulated and a resolution was adopted to increase the annual assessment rate to $35 per parcel effective FY 2022-23. This assessment has not been increased since 1994 and no longer covered the costs related to providing streetlight service.

Yolo County Children's Alliance
Holiday toy Distribution

Saturday, December 18th marked YCCA’s annual Holiday Toy Distribution. Because of community and business support, they were able to provide 963 children in our community with new toys for the holiday. In addition to toys, 350 families received other community resources that were so desperately needed. Thank you for your generosity during the season of giving.
