Civil Service Rules Change

Resolution 2020-151 amended Civil Service Rules 5.407 and 5.411. Rule 5.407 governs annual leave accumulation limits, and Rule 5.411 governs the payment of accrued unused annual leave at the time an employee exits the County. Please be advised that the accumulation limits have increased from 256 hours to 356 for general employees, and 576 for fire shift personnel. This change is beneficial to employees, and basically increases the amount of annual leave payout.

The change in the accumulation limits does not impact your accrual rate. All covered employees earn annual and sick leave at the rate of 4 hours per pay period. The effective date of Resolution 2020-151 is August 4, 2020.

If you have any questions, please contact your supervisor, or call Human Resources.

Protocol for Submitting Requests to the                               Office of Communications & Print Services

Department Heads and staff should review the brand video and requirements for the new brand logo, tagline and marketing slogan, which was approved for all BOC departments effective July 7, 2020. The official logo, lettering and colors should not be changed and should never appear distorted when printed, embroidered, posted, or electronically shared.

It is important to make all vendors and partners aware of the official brand guide and official color pallette with the correct numbers when creating flyers, promotional, uniforms, swag, etc. for your department using the full color, black, or white version of the logo. White background of solid colors that are not in the logo are recommended that convey all details clearly of the logo (no fade, no lines, no circles, no gradients etc. that would change the logo.) Otherwise, use the black logo or white logo or gray scale only to achieve the full effect of the logo without distorting it.

If you have questions, contact the Office of Communications/Print Services at printshop@claytoncountyga.gov, (770) 477-3562. for immediate assistance before you print or order.

A CHECKLIST FOR CHANGE

Below are the questions you should review before attempting changes within any organization.

YES   or   NO

Will this change benefit the followers?

Is this change compatible with the purpose of the organization?

Is this change specific and clear?

Are the top 20 percent (the influencers) in favor of the change?

Is it possible to test this change before making a total commitment to it?

Are physical, financial, and human resources available to make this change?

Is this change reversible?

Is this change the next obvious step?

Does this change have both short- and long-range benefits?

Is this leadership capable of bringing about this change?

Is the timing right?

The last question is the ultimate consideration for implementing change. Success in bringing about change will happen only if the timing is right.
