Together, We Make Every Ability Possible

At UCP of West Alabama, everything we do is made possible by people like you — those who believe everyone deserves a life without limits.

Because of your support, more than 3,000 children and adults with disabilities across 15 counties are gaining independence, finding purpose, and building meaningful lives.

You can be part of what comes next. Make a gift, volunteer your time, or share our mission with others.

Together, we are creating opportunities for every person to live, learn, work, and belong.

Community Champion Spotlight: Bethany Triplett & The Shirt Shop

At UCP of West Alabama, we often say that strong communities are built by people who choose to give back—and Bethany Triplett is a shining example of exactly that. As the owner of The Shirt Shop, Bethany has taken an already strong business and continued to grow it into something even more meaningful—a place where purpose and impact come together.

This year, The Shirt Shop stepped forward as the Title Sponsor of our Swing for a Cause Golf Tournament, helping ensure that individuals with disabilities across West Alabama continue to receive the services and support they need to live a life without limits.

But Bethany’s impact goes far beyond sponsorship.

Through our Milestones employment program, Bethany opened her doors to Sam Dowling. What started as an opportunity became a meaningful job, a place of belonging, and a chance for Sam to grow in confidence and independence. That’s what true inclusion looks like—and it’s happening right here in our community because of leaders like Bethany.

Bethany doesn’t just write checks—she shows up, invests in people, and leads with heart. She understands that businesses have the power to change lives, not only through what they sell, but through who they support. Her example is a powerful reminder: when local businesses step up, entire communities rise.

We are incredibly grateful for Bethany Triplett and The Shirt Shop—for their generosity, their leadership, and their belief in the mission of UCP.

To our business community: this is your invitation. Follow Bethany’s lead. Get involved. Hire inclusively. Invest locally. Be part of something bigger than your business. Because together, we can create a community where everyone belongs.

Autism Acceptance Month: Driving Awareness, Advancing Inclusion

This April, as we recognize Autism Acceptance Month, UCP of West Alabama proudly reaffirms our commitment to building a community where people with cerebral palsy, autism, and all disabilities are fully included, valued, and empowered.

This year’s theme, “Autism and Humanity — Every Life Has Value,” reminds us that every individual brings unique strengths, perspectives, and purpose to our community. Yet, too often, harmful myths and limiting beliefs still exist. That’s why we are called to go beyond awareness — to challenge misinformation, uplift authentic voices, and create real opportunities for people of all abilities.

At UCP of West Alabama, this work happens every day. Through our programs, advocacy, and community partnerships, we are creating pathways for independence, connection, and meaningful lives for the more than 3,000 individuals and families we serve.

But lasting inclusion takes all of us.

Together, we can turn awareness into action. Your support helps expand vital services, strengthen our community, and ensure that people with disabilities can truly live a life without limits.

We invite you to be part of this important work. Consider making a donation today and help us continue building a more inclusive West Alabama for everyone.

After 25 years of dedication, hard work, and meaningful impact, Traci Green officially retired on April 1, 2026, from The Rise Center at the University of Alabama through the REACH Program.
