Potentate's Message


Nobles all:


Greetings from your Divan. Our Temple meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 18, 2026 at 7:30pm located at 59 Maselli Rd., Newington

.

A dinner of Shepherd’s Pie, salad and bread will be provided at a cost of $15.00 per person prior to the meeting at 6:30pm (at the Shrine Center).


The agenda will include reports on upcoming events as well as activities happening in the Shrine realm.


At the last Divan meeting your Divan voted on the following items for recommendation:


  • Suspend meals at the monthly meeting starting in May 2027.
  • An increase (2027) dues of $20.00
  • Reduce the 2 year to 1 year for NPD drops
  • Changing the by-laws to reduce the 10 business meetings requirement to 4 business meetings a year.


These recommendations will be announced at April’s stated meeting and voted on at the May stated meeting. In addition to the above, the Potentate is seeking volunteers to serve on an exploratory committee regarding the future location of Sphinx Shrine.

Children's Easter Party


A good time was had April 4 at the Children's Easter Party at Warren Lodge #51 in Portland. Razzi the Clown and the Easter Bunny himself made special appearances. The food was great - thanks to Assistant Rabban Dave Rutter and Lady Sara Rutter and the kitchen crew. And much thanks to all who helped put together a wonderful event.

Sphinx Hospital Transportation News


We are looking for drivers to transport Connecticut patients to Shriners Children's New England (Springfield) or Shriners Children's Boston. Drivers leave from Newington, pick up the child and parent/guardian at their home, transport to Shriners Children's and then return them home. Some trips take the better part of a day to complete. Please consider volunteering for this very important job.

Our family-friendly walk and fall festival benefits pediatric burn care, reconstructive plastic surgery, and cleft lip and palate care provided at Shriners Children’s Boston, regardless of families’ ability to pay or insurance status.

Sphinx Shriners Caravan Club


The Caravan Shrine Club is a social club open to all Shriners. We also welcome the members' Ladies, as well as the widows of Shriners.


The Caravan Club meets on the Second Wednesday of the month, except July & December at the Athenian Diner II, 864 Washington St., Middletown.


Attendees order off the menu and pay for themselves.
