Water & Woods: Clergy Gathering 9/4/25

I introduced myself last month as your new Director of Clergy Support. As I mentioned, this role is focused on helping clergy connect with one another and tend to the whole self. We are committed to nurturing and supporting healthy clergy, and this includes opportunities to tend to the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of wellbeing. Throughout the year, there will be invitations to gather for various activities in various locations around the district. All clergy are invited—if it fits your schedule, if you are nearby, or if this just sounds soul-soothing and you feel like a drive, please join us. Again, all clergy are invited and welcome to join these gatherings—actively appointed, on leave, appointed to school, serving in extension, and retired. For questions, please contact me, Rev. Water & Woods: Clergy Gathering

Thursday 9/4, 10am-1pm @ Waller Mill Park

You will have the opportunity to spend time on the water (canoe, kayak, pedal boat, jon boat), hike through wooded or asphalt trails, sit in a scenic spot engaging your senses, and share a picnic meal together.

Parking and boat rental fees will be covered by the District. Just bring your own picnic lunch, wear comfortable outdoor clothes (and sunscreen/bug repellant), and be ready to tend your spirit and enjoy time with colleagues.  The park has bathrooms, water bottle refilling station, and limited snack/drink vending. [Inclement weather plan: For light rain, we will likely still meet. If weather looks more foreboding, we will communicate cancellation or an alternate plan the day before.]
