Happening this Month
There's still time to join in the fun and compete for your state to win! The power of 18 has been extended until October 18th! We are asking you to ask 18 people to donate $18 to your fundraising page. Our goal is to have one team of fundraisers from EACH state. How much can we raise together? If you would like to help your state win, be sure to pick the team option during your registration and find your state’s name from the dropdown menu. You can encourage your friends and family from your state to join your team too!

A small donation can make a BIG difference!

Update on FSHD2 and SCA28 as they Relate to 18p Deletions

In early 2013, two reports were published in the scientific literature about genes on chromosome 18p that potentially had relevance for people with 18p-. We immediately held a webinar for the families of individuals with 18p deletions who are enrolled in the research program to explain the findings and what we planned to do next. Since that time, we have learned more about the role those genes might play in the development of the conditions they cause, and want to share updates here.
San Antonio Area Families: Emergency Need Fund
Chromosome 18 has received a special grant from the Najim Charitable Foundation to assist low-income families acquire medical necessary items for their chromosome 18 affected child.

This fund is the first time ever we've been able to offer a program like this. Funding will cover the cost of medical items (up to $2,000 per family) for chromosome 18 families in the San Antonio area.

Please reach out to office@chromosome18.org with questions.
