Dear Dear Fellow MemberFellow LAAHU Members,
2019 is moving at High Speed! Our New Governor and Legislators have already started working on many pieces of Legislation that will affect our Industry. You can read some of what is going on further down this Newsletter.
CAHU will be have it's “Bill Review” in March, determining the priority bills that we will then take to our State Capitol in May. We encourage you to join us - and don't forget that all Members that attend are entitled to a stipend. We need your participation in this process to show our leaders that we are an important part of the solution regarding healthcare. If you have not been a part of this in the past, we encourage you to attend. If you have been before, you know how rewarding it can be. Our State Senators. Assembly Members and their Staff need to heard from all of us, We encourage as many members to join us, Registration is open now on

Your Local Board of Directors and members will be visiting Washington DC from the 25
th
February to discuss Federal priorities and the Importance of the Role of the Agent to our Members of Congress, We have over 20 in attendance, I would like to thank everyone that is taking time out of their busy schedule to attend and support our Members. On February 21st we will hold a special Legislative meeting following our Member Meeting - and all those attending CapCon should plan on being there.
LAAHU is going to be putting on a Number of Events over the next few Months, We are holding our first Charity 5k on March 16
th
, with all Net proceeds going to the nominated Charity “Fit 4 the cause” Please Join us for this morning of Family Fun and support a great Charity. We also will be having our Annual Symposium on April 17
th
at the Skirball Center. The them this year is “Agents are Superhero’s “ and we have a full day of Education as well as Topics to help you grow your Business.
In Late June, we will then be representing our Chapter at the NAHU Annual Convention, which is being held in San Diego and is open to all LAAHU Members.
Then in August we will be holding our 5
th
Annual Medicare Summit with Ventura, as well as Hosting the Region 8 Leadership Conference in Long Beach with our sister chapter (Orange County)
While these events are important to the Chapter, The most important part of our Association, is you our Members, We could not put on these events, if we didn’t have our Members support these as well as volunteer to help organize, With that being said we are looking for talented Individuals to help us by serving on committee’s or holding positions on our Board of Director’s, Whether you are the Membership Chair looking at recruiting and showing the value of Membership or our Legislative Chair who communicates our State and Federal Priorities, Every role is vital and these volunteers are not only supporting our members but the Broker population as a whole, Please reach out if you would like to be involved.
Finally if you have Ideas on what you would like to see over the next few months, Please reach out to me Directly, I am happy to listen to your thoughts and help our Chapter become Stronger.
