Interactive Prayer Study Group | Prayer is one of the key activities of a disciple

  • Would you like to make prayer a regular part of your life to deepen your relationship with the Lord?
  • Would you like to pray with the confidence that God hears and speaks with you?
  • Would you like to practice prayer with others?

In response to the recent survey on prayer, the Discipleship Board is planning an interactive prayer study group for 4 weeks starting Sunday, June 30, from 11:30AM-12:30PM in the Bethany Room (downstairs room to left of Duke Lutherans Center).

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. - 1Thessalonians 5:16-18

Welcome to the Way of GRACE: Discovering the Call of Jesus Christ | This is your invitation to join our upcoming class starting on June 30th at 11:30 AM. Join us on Wednesday, June 26th at 10 AM for a meeting filled with compassion and purpose. Together, we can embody the spirit of 1 John 3:17 and extend a helping hand to those in need. If your heart resonates with this cause but you cannot make it, please reach out to Chris Wethman for more information.

June 8 Grace Farmers Market, by the numbers | About a hundred customers were joined by a dozen Grace and Duke volunteers and six farmers last Saturday. Farmers and vendors offered their products for sale. Over $1000 worth of food (in the form of vouchers) was given to Walltown Neighborhood Food Ministry clients. The first time we've topped that milestone! Our immediate goal? Increase relief to our food-insecure neighbors at the next market on Saturday, July 13 from 1-4 pm. How can you help? Shop at the market. Share God's love with those you meet. Pray that God allows the market to continue to serve those in need.

Click here for photos from Saturday.

And a brief word from Barbara Silvernail: "Thanks to the Racial Reconciliation team and all of the volunteers that came out AGAIN to support our farmers!! The next market is July 13th and that means fresh tomatoes and peppers. While you are out and about why not stop by to say hello to our Grace neighbors and show your generosity by spending $5.00."

A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life | “I can finally perceive that God put some of the most difficult neighbors in my life at some of the most difficult times in order to bring me to the end of myself. Jesus didn’t say that what God asks us to do would be easy. What God asks is impossibly difficult if God were not actually alongside us, helping us every step of the way. But the good news is that He is alongside us, helping us every step of the way.” Donna Harrison, M.D., American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists • lutheransforlife.org

I just wanted to take a moment to express how truly grateful I am for all of the cards and gifts that I received after serving as your Congregation President for the past 4+ years. Your kindness and thoughtfulness completely overwhelmed me. I am blessed to be part of this congregation.
