While we would love to be back in our classrooms at church, learning Bible stories, singing songs, putting on puppet plays and more; we also want to make sure everyone stays safe during this pandemic. And so, since we cannot yet go to church, we are bringing the church to you.

We have created Church in a Box! Every month we will send a packet of materials to our youth, with a lesson from the Bible and with lots of activities to do through the month until the next Church in a Box packet arrives. In addition to the packets, we will contact you to schedule a time to gather with you and others via zoom so you can share what you have done and you, and your parents can ask questions. We want to make the Church in a Box lessons as engaging and enjoyable as possible. So, please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions or suggestions.

And, if you'd like to make a donation to help offset supplies, printing and postage, you can do so through PayPal by clicking here. Under the optional drop-down list, please select Church in a Box. And thank you!

Quilts on Barns Community Day

The Racine Arts Council and Real Racine are hosting a “Quilts on Barns Road Rally,” October 10 utilizing our driving tour map of 26 quilted barns. County Executive Delagrave and Mayor Mason have declared this day “Community Quilt Day.” What better way to celebrate our beautiful county than to travel throughout rural and urban areas looking for quilted barns, driving down rustic roads, eating a caramel apple and enjoying the fall color!

Visitors will enjoy the designs of local artist Libby Cameron on “Blue Ribbon Horse,” “Rusty Horseshoes” and “Quarter Horse Cross” in Caledonia, “Connecting the Arts,” commissioned for the RAC 50th Anniversary, designed by Maureen Fritchen in Wind Lake/Norway, and other quilted barns along the way. We have agriculture corn, soy and dairy farms, pumpkin patches with fall festivals, beautiful rivers and lakes, bike trails, urban shops, rustic roads, historical Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, views of the Windpoint Lighthouse and beaches on Lake Michigan, quilt stores, downtown shops, local historical museums, Underground Railroad sights and an active art & music scene! You can participate in this community event by taking the tour or by displaying a quilt in a window, on your front porch, fence or clothesline - wherever you live. Be part of the fun!

Your rally card is your drawing entry. Here is what you do to join the road rally:

Mail your printed rally card to: Racine Arts Council, 716 College Ave, Racine, WI 53403. Must be received by Friday, October 16. Drawing will be Saturday, October 17, 2020. They will be giving away a lap quilt and many gift baskets.
