Looking Ahead With Hope and Gratitude

As the year comes to a close, this is a moment of reflection and resolve at Catholic Charities of Oregon. Thanks to our community’s generosity, 2025 was marked by continued service to women experiencing homelessness, support for refugees and survivors of trafficking, and steady care amid ongoing uncertainty. These efforts represent real people finding dignity and hope. As we look ahead, we remain ready to respond, adapt, and walk alongside those who need us most.

Voices of Hope

Storytelling has a way of opening hearts and inspiring action. This month, we’re honored to share the voice of Sally Fallow, whose life and work are rooted in noticing goodness and helping it grow. Whether through her creative pursuits, her commitment to family, or her belief in faith put into action, Sally embodies the quiet, steady hope that fuels our mission at Catholic Charities of Oregon. Her story reminds us that meaningful change often begins with small acts of kindness, carried out with intention, love, and gratitude.

At Catholic Charities of Oregon, accompaniment isn't just a value. It's a daily practice. Our 2025 Jesuit Volunteers embody that commitment, showing up with intention, humility, and deep care as they walk alongside individuals and families navigating moments of transition.

THANK YOU 🙏 for helping to make our annual Holiday Toy Shop so successful again this year! Thanks to our generous donors, we received hundreds of toys. We helped about 100 client families find toys for nearly 300 children. Almost 20 people signed up to volunteer alongside our 20-plus Catholic Charities employees who helped out during the event.

Our annual Celebration of Hope returns on Feb. 20, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency in NE Portland, and we can’t wait to gather with you! This signature evening lifts up the work of Catholic Charities grounded in Catholic social teaching and celebrates the incredible community that makes it possible. Tables, individual seats, and sponsorship opportunities are now available.

Stay Tuned: Winter Food Drive Coming

As the holidays pass, the need does not. This January and February, Catholic Charities of Oregon will host a Winter Food Drive to support neighbors facing ongoing food insecurity. With continued uncertainty around SNAP benefits and rising costs, many families experience the deepest strain well after the holiday season ends.

Stay tuned for details on how you can help keep our community nourished through the winter months.
