Bridge 8 Rehabilitation – River Road Closure Notice
River Road will be closed to through traffic between 15 Sideroad and Centre Road starting June 23, 2025, as part of a major infrastructure upgrade. The closure is necessary to complete the rehabilitation of Bridge 8, located approximately 280 metres east of 15 Sideroad.
This important project has been awarded to Unique Builders Group, with construction scheduled to continue until October 31, 2025, weather permitting. The work will include essential repairs and structural upgrades to ensure the long-term safety and usability of the bridge.
While River Road will be closed to through traffic, local access will be maintained for residents and property owners within the construction zone. A detailed map of the project area will be available on the Township’s website.
All key service providers—including Emergency Services, School Bus Transportation, Waste Collection, and Postal Services—have been notified and will be accommodated throughout the closure period. Signage will be posted to guide traffic and notify travelers of the closure.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time. This rehabilitation project is part of the Township’s commitment to maintaining and improving local infrastructure.

Tree Sales & Carbon Offsets in Mulmur
As part of the Township of Mulmur’s 2024 Strategic Plan, under the goal of Growing Awareness, one key action is to build a foundational understanding of environmental sustainability and climate change.
Trees have long provided many benefits—supplying food and fuel, controlling soil erosion, offering habitat, shading communities, protecting infrastructure from snow drifts, and improving air quality. But perhaps one of the most significant contributions trees make today is in the fight against climate change.
Trees absorb and store greenhouse gases, help protect shorelines from erosion, and play a major role in cooling urban areas. That’s why Mulmur has committed to action—completing its second annual Tree Sale in May 2025, with an impressive 3,384 trees added to the local environment.
While carbon absorption varies depending on species, size, and growing conditions, a conservative estimate suggests each tree absorbs 10 kg of CO₂ annually for the first 20 years. That means:
- 33.84 tonnes of CO₂ will be absorbed each year
- 676.8 tonnes of CO₂ will be offset over 20 years
To put it in perspective, that’s roughly equivalent to:
- Offsetting the annual emissions from five 2020 Ford F-150s driven 20,000 km each
- Or the emissions from a one-way flight on a Boeing 737 carrying 100 passengers from Toronto to Calgary.
Mulmur’s tree sale isn’t just about planting trees—it’s about planting solutions.
