CITY RECEIVES GRANT TO PLACE TWO PORTABLE TOILETS IN PARKS

The City received a grant totaling $2,800 to support portable toilets at the UW fields and Forest Ridge Park. Alderperson Natasha Tompkins helped secure these funds.

Specifically, $2,000 was awarded by the Marshfield Area Community Foundation, and

an additional $800 was received from Walmart. These grants will cover the

anticipated cost of providing two portable toilet units from May 1st to October 1st.

Portable toilets will enhance the experience of individuals using these facilities.

Welcome Back Grant

BUILDING REVITALIZATION GRANT PROGRAM

The Welcome Back Grant promotes improvements to rear business entrances to improve visitors' visibility, accessibility, and enjoyment.

Rear entries in downtown Marshfield are often the most convenient entrances to public parking lots and are adjacent to the designated bike lanes on Chestnut and Maple Avenues. Additionally, major downtown destinations, including the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library, Steven J. Miller Park, Wenzel Family Plaza, and residential neighborhoods, drive traffic to these parallel streets. Investment in back entrances through the development of patios, seating areas, fresh paint, tasteful murals, better lighting, and improved signage can help customers connect with downtown businesses in new ways.

In 2025, $16,000 has been designated for the Welcome Back Grant Program, allowing for grants of up to $4,000 per project. The 2025 grant cycle requires a 50/50 match, meaning that if awarded $4,000, your total project cost must be at least $8,000, with $4,000 being the applicant’s financial responsibility.
