| BUILDING HEALTHY, VIBRANT CHURCHES | |
As part of its strategy for supporting congregational vitality, the Presbytery of Milwaukee is offering a four-part series on leadership development. These three-hour workshops are for sessions, deacons, pastors, leadership teams and individuals looking to build the leadership capacity of their congregation or team. Come to one or attend them all; while each workshop can stand alone, they are designed to build on one another.
All workshops are being held at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Waukesha from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
April 11 – Identifying Leaders and Building Teams (register now!)
May 16 – Creating a Vision in Alignment with Your Values
August 29 – Making Decisions and Taking Action
October 3 – Handling Conflict and Building Agreement

| | ARE YOU THE NEXT PRESBYTERY TREASURER? | | |
The Presbytery of Milwaukee is currently in search of a part-time treasurer to oversee the corporate and financial responsibilities of the Presbytery and interpret the finances to the Presbytery, the Council, and Presbytery staff. The position reports to the Presbytery through the Council and interacts closely with the Presbytery Executive, the Administrative Assistant, the Stated Clerk, and the Treasurer of the Presbytery of Milwaukee Foundation. The treasurer will receive a $2,500 yearly stipend.
This is anticipated to be primarily a remote position, with periodic in person meetings, totaling approximately 5 hours per week.

As a result of outcomes from the March Board of Directors meeting, the Board of Pensions announces several updates and enhancements to the Benefits Plan that support congregations, pastors and their families.

Tuesday, April 14, 2026, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

To enhance the safety and well-being of older survivors of abuse by strengthening knowledge, responses, referrals, and community collaborations.
As a result of this training, participants will be better able to:
- Identify the dynamics and indicators of abuse of older adults (Recognize),
- Provide compassionate support and services to individual older adults who are experiencing abuse (Respond),
- Initiate referrals based on an increased awareness of community resources (Refer), and
- Engage in community collaborations between service providers and faith leaders to better respond to the unique needs of older, faith-involved survivors of abuse (Reach Out).
The ideal group should be from the following disciplines:
- Diverse faith leaders, both clergy and lay
- Chaplains (including hospital and hospice chaplain and chaplaincy volunteers at Family Justice Centers with whom sexual and domestic violence advocates are working or hope to work)
- Teams of people representing individual congregations that consist of clergy, office staff, religious education or music program staff, heads of committees and ministries

FAITH & CIVIC LIFE: RAISING OUR MORAL VOICE

In March, the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee is sponsoring an event to explore Faith & Civic Life. "Tuesdays in March” features a luncheon and lecture by a new speaker each week, in person at First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee – a Unitarian Universalist Congregation (1342 N. Astor St., Milwaukee).A Luncheon/Lecture Series
The event will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each Tuesday in March. A remote access option is available for those unable to attend in Milwaukee.
The schedule of speakers is:
- March 24: Rev. Ricardo Martín, Pastor of Saint Adalbert Parish and Vice Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee
- March 31: Bishop Paul Erickson, Greater Milwaukee Synod of the ELCA

Wisconsin's Spring Elections day this year is Tuesday, April 7th. The Wisconsin Council of Churches has developed a bulletin insert with general information on voting, what might be on your ballot, and links to learn about candidates.
You are welcome to use this information in bulletins, newsletters, social media, or more. The WCC is also happy to adjust the insert to work for your congregation. Reach out to the WCC if they can help you.

As people of faith continue to show up in public actions across the state, many are asking how to build towards change. Join the WCC for April’s Taking a Faithful Stand webinar to learn about concrete actions you can take on the local level to feed the hungry, care for the sick, and welcome the neighbor. This will include presentations about organizing against 287g agreements (ICE and law enforcement collaboration), 4th amendment workplace/business organizing, and county board-level organizing for rural and urban communities.
