HOLY TRINITY ANNOUNCES ITS NEXT HEAD OF SCHOOL

Holy Trinity's Board of Trustees is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs. Elizabeth Miller to succeed Dr. Katherine Cobb as Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy’s next Head of School, effective July 1, 2023.

The selection of Mrs. Miller is the culmination of an extensive national search in which the Executive Search Committee screened dozens of applications, interviewed twelve candidates by video, met with three candidates in person, and brought two finalists to campus for two-day visits to essentially meet every constituent group in our school community.

During the search process, we were struck not only by the enthusiastic feedback we received about Mrs. Miller but also by her experience, passion, and commitment to excellence—traits our community identified as essential for our next leader. She has outstanding interpersonal skills, sharp administrative and financial acumen, and deeply held values in close alignment with our own. She also brings creative insight and a high energy level for leading Holy Trinity into its next chapter.

Elizabeth Miller has been working in education for over two decades. She has been a teacher, Registrar, Upper School Head, and Head of School. She currently serves as the Head of School at Lauralton Hall in Milford, Connecticut.

At Lauralton Hall, Mrs. Miller led the school through its first continuing accreditation process in a decade. She weathered financial challenges by raising $2.2 million while reducing the school’s normal operating budget significantly. She redirected the school to its mission with schoolwide prayer services in the Chapel, spiritual retreats, and increased emphasis on community service, and restored international travel opportunities for students.

Prior to working at Lauralton Hall, Mrs. Miller was the Deputy Head of School at GEMS Nations Academy in Dubai and the Head of School at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School in St. Louis. She led the planning and adoption process for both Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School’s strategic plans, and is well-versed in crisis planning, risk management assessment, and financial forecasting. Prior to working in education, Mrs. Miller enjoyed an eight-year career in international business and was based out of Atlanta.

At Holy Trinity, Mrs. Miller will continue her work in leading the charge for educational innovation and excellence. She has a strong commitment to student-centered learning and she believes in the power of educational experiences that extend beyond the traditional classroom setting. Mrs. Miller is dedicated to supporting students in their pursuit of excellence and will work tirelessly to ensure that each student has the opportunities and resources needed to succeed.

We are confident that Mrs. Miller will be an exceptional leader for our school and we look forward to working with her to continue to build a strong and vibrant community at Holy Trinity.

Sincerely,
Thomas P. Flavin
Chair, Board of Trustees
Our buckets are full because of Mrs. Durrance and Mrs. Ramos selfless dedication in putting the mental health and well-being of our students first every day. It is with deep gratitude we recognize two of Holy Trinity's finest this National School Counselors Week.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE AFTERSCHOOL HUDDLE

We are disappointed to announce the closing of The Huddle at the Tiger Athletic Complex. The purpose of The Huddle was to provide students a safe place to gather, study, play games and for parents to be able to pick up their children up until 4:00pm and avoid the carline. Our hope was to give athletes and non-athletes the opportunity to enjoy the Tiger Athletic Complex.

Unfortunately, the students in attendance at The Huddle consistently disrespected and mistreated the facility, equipment, and the volunteers who gave of their time to provide this opportunity. After multiple conversations and attempts to rectify the situation, the decision was made to close The Huddle and the concessions stand until further notice

The last day will be next week on Wednesday, February 15th. Students should not go to the Tiger Athletic Complex after school unless they participate in a sport or are otherwise authorized.

Students who are not picked up at carline can stay on campus but must remain on the main part of campus and will NOT be allowed at the Tiger Athletic Complex unless they are attending an athletic event. The library is open until 4:00pm and snacks will still be available from the vending machines.

It is our hope that we can try again at a later date…..

FPS Community Problem Solving Team Organizes Raffle To Bridge The Education Gap

FACT: In India, many girls are unable to receive an education for a variety of factors (societal norms, the lack of funding, and general poverty rates). Even girls who are able to afford tuition and attend school face many more hardships including being unable to afford shoes or food.

As part of a community outreach program, two Holy Trinity students and Future Problem Solvers (FPS) have made it their mission to raise funds so that girls in other countries can have the opportunity to have an education and some of the privileges we are fortunate to have here in the U.S.

This project is ongoing and currently focused on four 15-year-old girls in Dabeerpura, Hyderabad India, who attend Princess Durru Shehvar Girls High School.

To help support these girls, HT's Community Problem Solving Team is hosting a $5 basket raffle this semester with the chance to win the latest Air Pod Pros. All proceeds from the raffle and any additional donations will fund these girls and their education.

Please consider purchasing a raffle ticket or making a donation. Contact either Sofia Alikhan or Kaitlynn LaNois with any questions. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!
PROJECT PROM LOOKING FOR DONATIONS AND STUDENT VOLUNTEERS
