THANKSGIVING BASKET BLESSING CEREMONY

The Lower School’s annual Thanksgiving Basket Blessing Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 14th at 8:15 am in the church. The event will be for grades 1–6.

For those not familiar with this event, the entire Lower School community works together to provide Thanksgiving meals for 28 families in the Melbourne area. This collected effort presents a wonderful opportunity for our students to see their acts of service and love amplified in a tangible way during the Thanksgiving holiday. The ceremony also provides the opportunity for our students to collectively pray for the families who will be receiving these Thanksgiving baskets. Parents, as always, are welcome to attend.

Mrs. Bergendahl's Intro to Art & Design class presented their "Hero Projects" for a gallery walk. Each student was asked to select a person that inspires them. As you can image their subject matter varied as much as their interests. Students have been working on drawing techniques all semester and this project highlights many of the skills they have been developing.

This includes transportation to hospitals and rescue groups, financial assistance to individual or local rescue groups, food bank support, obtaining foster homes for unwanted pets, and community education programs.

PHOTOGRAPHY'S "WORD OF THE WEEK"

The "Word of the Week" theme from Ms. Fleis' Photo AP/Portfolio Honors class was "100 steps from your door." Students had to walk out their door, take 100 steps and then photograph whatever was there as beautifully as possible. Senior Allison LaGrone captured this showstopper for the win this week!
