Message from the Rector

Last Sunday, we held an Instructed Eucharist, and I am thrilled to share that it was a resounding success! The participation was incredible, with so many of you asking insightful questions and engaging deeply with the service. I received a lot of positive feedback, such as “I learned so much,” “I really appreciated the explanations,” and “this added a lot of meaning to the service that I didn’t have before.” It warms my heart to see such enthusiasm and eagerness to understand and connect with our worship on a deeper level.

With this wonderful energy and interest in worship, I am excited to promote two upcoming events that I believe will further enrich our spiritual journey together.

Music in the Labyrinth - Thursday, 8/1

Join us for an evening to quiet the chaos of the world and simply listen to peaceful and beautiful music. This event is designed to provide a space for reflection and tranquility. If you feel comfortable, you are also welcome to walk the labyrinth in prayer. It is a wonderful opportunity to center yourself, find peace, and connect with God in a serene setting.

Liturgy Retreat - Saturday, 8/3 at 11:00 AM

I am particularly excited about our Liturgy Retreat, where we will delve into all things worship. We will discuss the different roles and people that make our worship happen, including lectors, prayer leaders, altar guild, choir, acolytes, lay eucharistic ministers, chalice bearers, zoom/a/v support, ushers, and more. This retreat will not only cover what each role entails but also explore the “why” and the spiritual significance behind each role. Think of it as the Instructed Eucharist, but on steroids! It will be an enriching experience for anyone involved in our worship services or interested in learning more and maybe even become a member of the worship yourself!

I encourage you to participate in these events and continue to deepen your understanding and connection with our worship practices. Together, we can continue to build a vibrant and spiritually fulfilling community.

PS- Speaking of worship, pay special attention to "Altar Flowers" announcement just below. Our altar has looked kind of sparse recently, and I don't think I'm the only one missing the flowers. I encourage you to look at the altar flowers calendar located next to the A/V equipment in the back of the church, and sign up if you can!

Elizabeth Jolie's Memorial Service

For our longtime parishioners, some of you may remember Elizabeth. She and her husband, Jacques, were regular worshipers until the mid 1990's when they moved away. On July 4, Elizabeth passed away, and we will be hosting her memorial service and inurnment at All Saints this coming Saturday. Kat, her daughter, asked that I share this information, along with Elizabeth's obituary, with the parish, and to share that all are welcome.

May Elizabeth's soul, along with all the souls of the departed, rest in peace. Amen.

A Moment to Pray, to Pause, Reflect, Ask and Yield



In the beautiful setting of our sanctuary, we can Pause from the worries of the past week and the pressures we may face in the coming weeks. While using this time to Reflect on God’s grace and mercy, we can recall God’s promises to “never fail nor forsake” us. Remember, Jesus encourages us to Pray by saying, “If in my name you Ask me for anything, I will do it.” Also, this dedicated time will give us courage to Yield to the will of God.

HEALTH MINISTRY CORNER

The Health Ministry would like for all of our parishioners to pair up with an individual and commit to become accountable to a regular wellness check. The individual that you select does not have to be a parishioner. It is very important for us to check on each other now more than ever before. Telephone, text, email, and/or a note in the mail are just examples of how you can stay in touch and be committed and accountable for wellness checks. Choose an individual and commit to remind that individual about a few basic wellness routines such as: drink water, exercise, take medication(s), check blood pressure and blood sugar, check weight, attend routine dental and medical appointments, and interact with others to avoid loneliness. Let’s start now with our WELLNESS ACCOUNTABILITY. 



Thanks!!!!! Stay safe, healthy, and hydrated. We can follow Christ better when we are healthier. The Bible tells us to love God, love our neighbors and to love ourselves. If we love ourselves, then we will take care of our physical and mental health.

WELCOME COMMITTEE



All Saints Parish is excited about welcoming new visitors to our church. We want to make sure that when visitors enter into our sanctuary, that they receive a warm and comfortable welcome. We would like to extend an invitation to church members to join the Welcome Committee. We need more parishioners to join our Welcome Committee to serve at both the 8:00AM and 10:30AM services. If you are interested in greeting and welcoming new visitors, please contact Malane Silver, 443-624-4691 or Adriane Hope Sayles, 301-467-1467 to receive more information. Thank you.

The ECW is relatively quiet this month, taking a break before coming back in August to brainstorm exciting ideas about the future of the organization and, believe it or not, to begin the planning of the 2024 Christmas Market. Don't forget we will not be meeting in July.

Be sure to mark your calendar for October 5th for a very special meet and greet activity for those who are not familiar with the ECW and those who have not joined in volunteering and fellowship with us. We are planning to take a cruise out of Solomons on the Wm. B. Tennyson. Be sure to mark the date now and look for additional information to come in August.  

Our next fellowship breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, (8/3), at 9 AM at Dream Weaver’s in Prince Frederick.  These monthly meetings are a chance to get to know other women in the parish, to make new friends, to catch up with each other and to share stories. This is not a business meeting - just fun, food and friendly chit-chat! All Parish women - women who attend All Saints, women who volunteer with us and women who are friends are welcome to join us in fellowship. Come, place your order, meet us in the back room and find out more about who we are!!!

And just a reminder, suggestions regarding the ECW are always welcome and you can email Jill at crbrfarm@msn.com if you have exciting ideas to share before the next meeting (Saturday, August 17^th at 9 AM).

We will be meeting Thursday, August 1st from 6:30 - 8 pm. Please join us to work on your projects or just to talk. Share with your friends who might be interested. No crafting required! Come join us at the Spudnik Garden from 9-11 this Saturday. We will empty some grow bags of potatoes to see what grew. Also see how much the tomato plants and other vegetables have grown. Some native flowers that have bloomed; the fig trees are full of fruit; we are getting peppers now, as well as carrots, eggplant and other vegetables. Hope to see you this Saturday.

The breakfasts are for all Christian men for fellowship and fun. We discuss most everything except religion. Plan to attend and bring a friend as all are welcome, especially newcomers. If you attend you'll have fun, if you don't, we'll talk about you.
