What a wonderful Sunday at HFUMC! We began the morning with the Blessing of the Backpacks, praying over our students, teachers, and school staff as they begin a new school year. After worship, our church family came together for Rise Against Hunger, packing meals to help provide food for communities in need around the world.

We wrapped up the day with a sweet treat at our 3rd Annual Ice Cream Social, enjoying homemade ice cream, fellowship, and a little friendly competition! Congrats to Todd Freeman who won 1st place!

We’re grateful for a Sunday filled with worship, service, and time together as a church family.

Bible Sunday

Sunday, August 23

Join us for a special Bible Sunday on August 23 during worship as we celebrate the gift of God’s Word! During the service, our PreK, 2nd grade, and 6th grade students will be called forward to receive their Bibles—a meaningful milestone in their faith journey.

After the service, we invite anyone who does not have a Bible to stop by and pick one up. Whether it’s your first Bible or an extra to share, we would be honored to place God’s Word in your hands.

Donuts and Dudes

Sunday, August 30 at 9:45 AM in Genesis Hall

Men of HFUMC, you're invited to Donuts and Dudes — an interest meeting for a new men's group. Come enjoy coffee and donuts, get to know other men in the church, and share your ideas for what a men's ministry here could look like.

Whether you're hoping for Bible study, service opportunities, fellowship, or just a way to get more connected, this is your chance to be part of the conversation.

Fall Youth Retreat

Saturday, September 12, Leaving at 6:30 AM

Fall Retreat! Come enjoy a weekend away with our youth group. We will also fellowship with one another through worship, games, and white water rafting down the Ocoee River!

Our hope this weekend is to grow closer to God! We will spend time in worship, small groups, and go through several stories in scripture pertaining to our theme. Our goal is that we step outside of our normal day-to-day and seek to encounter God.

Monthly Collection for Hendersonville Samaritan Center

The Samaritan Center assists local families in need with a food bank, funded in part by its thrift store. HFUMC has a collection bin near the church office. Each month, we’ll post the most-needed item—for August, please bring saltine crackers, canned carrots, and gravy packets to help support our neighbors!

Say It With Flowers

You have an opportunity to honor, recognize, or memorialize someone with flowers in our services. For a suggested donation of $40, an arrangement will be on the altar of both services, which you can take home afterwards. A dedication for that Sunday will be listed. This is a great opportunity to share the beauty of friendships, love, and thankfulness.

Limited Sundays are available, please contact lile.rogers23@gmail.com, or Suzanne Newman in the church office to see if your special date is available

Every week, we come together to celebrate the ways in which God is moving in our lives and community through “God Sightings.” These are stories of faith, answered prayers, acts of kindness, and moments where we witness God’s love at work.

Pastor Jason’s Sermon

Last Sunday, we were grateful to hear Pastor Jason share the message, reminding us that no one is beyond God’s grace and redeeming love. We’re thankful for his leadership and look forward to the many messages he will share with our church family in the years ahead.
