Presbytery Pulse

FROM REV. KIM TRIMBOLI, FOREST PARK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

I don’t know about you, but at Forest Park, we are beginning our annual stewardship season. We are certainly aware of anxieties about budgets, both personal and congregational, and we are absolutely aware of anxiety about congregations’ futures. We celebrate our new relationship with those Greenfield Avenue members who are joining our congregation, even as we understand the sense of loss that accompanies their transition.

One of the questions we have been asking is how do we turn the conversation back to giving out of a sense of joy and gratitude rather than a sense of obligation and desperation? Into that question, we already have had one joy-filled and delightful answer! The moderator of our mission committee made the announcement...(read more)

WITH CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES

Last week the Presbytery was notified of the passing of Sean Walters, husband of Rev. Nikki Blanks (Delafield). A celebration of life will take place at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 935 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Milwaukee on November 14, 2026. Visitations will begin at 1:00 p.m., and the service will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. A reception will follow at Y-Not II Tavern in Milwaukee until 6:00 p.m.

Please hold Nikki and all of Sean’s family and friends close in your prayers for comfort during this difficult time.

ARE YOU THE NEXT PRESBYTERY TREASURER?

The Presbytery of Milwaukee is currently in search of a part-time treasurer to oversee the corporate and financial responsibilities of the Presbytery and interpret the finances to the Presbytery, the Council, and Presbytery staff. The position reports to the Presbytery through the Council and interacts closely with the Presbytery Executive, the Administrative Assistant, the Stated Clerk, and the Treasurer of the Presbytery of Milwaukee Foundation. The treasurer will receive a $2,500 yearly stipend.

This is anticipated to be primarily a remote position, with periodic in person meetings, totaling approximately 5 hours per week.

Resumes and questions regarding the position may be submitted to the Personnel Chair, Terry Lyons.

DOES YOUR CHRUCH NEED A DIGITAL ORGAN?

Greenfield Avenue Presbyterian Church wishes to donate their 2006 Allen Digital Organ to any Presbyterian Church that is looking to upgrade their musical worship experience. The receiving congregation would only be required to pay for the costs associated with the transportation and set-up of the instrument. Contact treasurer@gapc-usa.org for additional information and/or appointment to view the instrument. Click on the link for technical information about the organ.

MONTREAT YOUTH CONFERENCE 2027

If you have any youth in your congregation who might be interested in attending Montreat Youth Conference, please be in touch with Pastor Jenny Gleichauf at jenny@covpres.org. Members of the Presbytery are looking particularly at week 2 (June 13-19) or at Week 5 (July 25-31). Week 5 is of particular interest because it mirrors what Triennium will be in 2028.

There are some funds that will help us defray costs, but we do not yet know what costs will be. Not every church will need to send adult chaperones.
