A Message from the Interim Rector
A Spring in the Desert: Exploring the Christian Virtues
When was the last time you thought about the 7 deadly sins? They don’t tend to be top of mind for most of us, but they are things we generally know to avoid: pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, anger, and sloth. Not only were we taught to avoid them, but we were also taught to avoid those who expressed these vices.
On the flip side, what do we know about the seven Christian Virtues? Faithfulness, humility, forgiveness, generosity, loving kindness, moderation, and constancy are behaviors we generally know to be good. However, we don’t spend enough time thinking about why these came to be the hallmarks of Christianity, or what it might take for us to live them more fully.
Our Lent program, A Spring in the Desert, will explore the 7 Christian Virtues through the lens of life in the desert. Lent takes us into a time of spiritual barrenness, where we dig down deep to refill our faith wells. Lent is also a time when we take off what does not serve us in order to put on new ways of thinking that will bring us closer to God.
Join us at 9 a.m. in the Heritage Room to learn more about the Christian Virtues. Our first session is this Sunday, and we will meet each Sunday at 9:15 through Palm Sunday (March 29). Please join us!
Peace,
Virginia+

An Update on the MacDonalds
Thanks to all who have visited Betty, taken Chuck to visit her, and arranged to provide meals to Chuck. The love our Parish has shown these wonderful parish family members is greatly appreciated.
Betty is progressing well with her rehab and will be moving to South River Rehabilitation Center on March 5. Malane Silver has arranged meals and rides for that time; however, Chuck will continue to require transportation to see Betty at the new rehab center until she is ready to go home. In addition, Malane will continue to coordinate meals until Betty is home and able to cook again.
Please continue to keep Betty and Chuck in your prayers!

2026 ANNUAL MEETING
GREAT FELLOWSHIP,
FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD,
GREAT CELEBRATION OF 2025,
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2026,
GREAT INFORMATION!
Our hearts are full following this year’s Annual Meeting. A deep thank you to everyone who poured their time and energy into making this gathering possible. From those who arrived early to set the stage and stayed late to clear the hall, to those who nourished us with a wonderful meal—your hands made this feel like home.
We are grateful to our “numbers people” for their diligent work on the 2026 budget and the financial updates; your clarity allows us to move forward with confidence. Most of all, thank you to everyone who brought their joy, reminding us why our parish family is so special.
A special note of appreciation goes to Deb Watson for her hard work in beautifully assembling the Annual Meeting booklet, and to Rev. Virginia for her grounding words of wisdom. Your guidance regarding the journey toward our new Rector gives us much-needed hope and excitement for what lies ahead for All Saints.

| The Men’s Breakfast is always the first Saturday of every month at 9:00 a.m. at Traders Restaurant in Chesapeake Beach. Jim Thrift, our convener, will be in attendance, setting up the room before 9:00. The breakfasts are for all Christian men for fellowship and fun. We discuss most everything except religion. Plan to attend and bring a friend, as all are welcome, especially newcomers. If you attend, you’ll have fun; if you don’t, we'll talk about you. | SAVE THE DATE AND STAY TUNED! | Healing Services at All Saints | |
What is a healing service? The Church of England’s Diocese of Worcester website approaches it this way: “Healing was central to the ministry of Jesus, and through the Holy Spirit, God brings healing to people today. We may receive healing through prayer, through the touch of another’s hands, or anointing with oil. Healing may come through hearing the Word of God in scripture or in preaching, or in receiving bread and wine in communion, or through being listened to and valued…”
Each Wednesday, All Saints hosts a 10 a.m. Healing Service for about 30 minutes. We listen to scripture, reflect on the example of saints who have gone before, receive anointing with oil, share communion, and pray fiercely for others and ourselves. We invite you to join us! We mostly meet online, with an in-person service in the sanctuary on the last Wednesday of each month. If this speaks to you or you want to share the name of someone in your life in need of healing, please reach out to Senior Warden Hope Sayles or to your deacons Chip and Lisa.
Please join us for our weekly Healing Service. We begin at 10 a.m.
