Johnston Keynotes New York State Conference

RFA executive director Daphne Johnston was the keynote speaker at the New York State Caregiving and Respite Coalition 2023 Conference on July 21. She was a perfect fit for the theme, “Building Up Respite in Your Community,” when she presented to attendees in Utica, NY. The conference provided “a space for professionals, faith communities, and volunteers alike to explore and formulate strategies and partnerships, and to build respite capacity for the state’s informal caregivers through volunteerism and education.”

Mentoring Communities

The mission of the Respite for All Foundation is not only to grow and expand the Respite for All model but also to mentor existing ministries and provide resources to help them be more sustainable. To that end, we have recently begun regular coaching calls with Respite directors, and we also created a “directors only” page on our website where we can add resources they can use in their own ministries. We had a great coaching call with many of our RFA directors on July 17. This was a chance to check in and hear any concerns that they may be facing and troubleshoot solutions with the knowledge base of directors on the call.
