We want to send out a big thank you to everyone that helped make this years breakfast with the bunny so special.

The Palm Sunday services were beautiful. Thank you to all that took part.

Little Lights registration begins on March 18th for returning families and those already participating in church activities. This registration is for our upcoming summer session which will begin on July 8th and end on August 1st. The fall semester will begin on September 3rd. Little Lights is a faith-based children’s day out program that meets Mondays through Thursdays from 9am-2pm.  Families of children 18 months and older can attend 2 or 4 days weekly. 

 

 LET’S DIVE IN!! Join us June 3rd thru June 6th as we take the kids deep into an amazing undersea adventure where they’ll experience the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God. Come dive into a new friendship with God at this year’s Scuba VBS. 


We need volunteers for jobs big and small!! Please contact Tracie Greene or Janis King to sign up.

Kids on a Mission

What an exciting opportunity for children ages 7-15 to do mission work with local agencies from June 17th through June 20th.  

Volunteering helps cultivate life and social skills. If you would like your child to take  advantage of this opportunity please contact Tracie Greene.

News from SLY

Thank you to all parents, volunteers, and Sunday School classes for your continued support and love for SLY. St. Luke’s is blessed to have a great youth group that meets on Sunday mornings at 9 am for Sunday School, Chapel Youth Choir rehearsal on Sunday afternoons at 4 pm, and SLY meets at 5 pm on Sunday evenings in the Youth area.

Spirit Wind:

Please contact Frank Stowers or Rev Tom Long, if anyone is interested in participating in the Spirit Wind Youth Choir. Spirit Wind is a non-denominal youth choir from 8th grade to 12th grade. Spirit Wind offers youth fellowship with peers, musical growth, and performance. The Spirit Wind dates are June 6-16.

THE CARING CONGREGATION TRAINING

ST. LUKE’S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

APRIL 5-6 FROM 9:00 am-3:30 pm

 

Energize your church and care ministry in the new year by attending the Northwest Texas Conference and Permian Basin Seminar on Friday, April 5, and Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 9:00 am-3:30 pm Registration includes two days of training with over 10 hours of interactive and dynamic content (counting toward pastoral continuing education) culminating in a closing worship service and commissioning This seminar is for churches of all sizes to establish and equip pastors, staff, and care teams (laity) to cultivate a culture of care by providing excellent care for their congregations and communities. Topics covered include theology of care, boundaries, listening and spiritual guidance, elder care, visitation, care for the sick and dying, organizing your teams (recruiting, roles, and documentation), healing after disaffiliation, crisis care, evaluation, and building the vision for a culture of care. National Team Member Rev. Joy Dister-Dominguez will lead the seminar.

 

There will be a $25.00 registration fee per person. This will cover lunch and snacks for both days. For more information about this training, please contact Rev. Tom Long at [email protected].   

 

We recommend purchasing the following two books for the CCM Training. The first book contains all the   details for the church staff to establish and train your Care Ministers. The second is an excellent training workbook and reference guide for CCMs. It contains sections for note-taking during training. 


The Caring Congregation: Implementation Guide Karen Lampe & Melissa Collier Gepford 's book containing the details on how to set up a care ministry in your church plus the foundational training for your team.


The Caring Congregation: Care Minister's Manual This companion book to the Implementation Guide is a personal training workbook and reference guide for CCMs and includes pages for note-taking during training.
