An Overflow of Blessings

We are thankful for such a wonderful year promoting the Respite for All model across the country, and we are thrilled with the coast-to-coast expansions we’ve seen over the last 12 months. These include two new locations in Washington State and three new locations in Wisconsin. Add that to new locations in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, plus two new locations in Birmingham, AL. Most recently, Friends Place Respite Ministry at First Christian Church in Madisonville, Kentucky, and First Church Respite Ministry at FUMC Pensacola (FL) opened in November.

The RFA network is not just a list of names and states, but it is also a growing community of directors who support each other and freely share ideas with each other. On Dec. 2, for example, we had a Zoom call with 25 directors from around the country – some with several years under their belts, others only a month on the job – and it was beautiful to see them come together to offer tips from their own experiences serving individuals living with dementia.

The RFA Network has grown so large that we've moved the annual training conference for the first time to Birmingham, AL. We’re thankful that Encore Respite at Canterbury United Methodist Church is serving as host when we gather March 2-4 for a whirlwind of learning and inspiration.
