Sharing Our Faith:
Christmas is a favorite holiday for many people. The lights and other decorations remind us that there is something special about this time of year. It is sometimes difficult to focus on the true meaning of Christmas because of all of the commercialization. So it is important to take a moment to reflect on what Christmas is truly about.
This Christmas season, please take the time to remember the coming of Christ in three ways: He came in the flesh as an infant over two thousand years ago; He comes to each of us in many ways daily throughout our lives, he will come again one day in glory.
I truly enjoy having a Christmas birthday because Christmas is so focused on family and love and celebration. But I love Christmas because I am reminded that God came to the earth to live among us and save us. We have eternal life because the Baby Jesus came into the world. We are blessed.

On behalf of the Faculty and Staff of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish School, I wish you a most joyous and faith-filled Christmas. May the peace of Christ be in your hearts and may God bless you with a wonderful New Year.

~Ileana Wade

Class Christmas Parties
Our room parents are hard at work getting ready for the class Christmas parties which will take place on December 15th. Please remember that parties are funded through your registration payments and if those payments have not been made for this year, it will affect your child's party because the party budget will be reduced.
The class Christmas parties are lots of fun for the students! This year, the Christmas parties fall on National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day so the students will be allowed to wear ugly (or cute) Christmas sweaters ALONG WITH THEIR UNIFORMS. This is not a free dress day. Students must wear their jumpers, skirts, shorts, or pants, regular uniform shoes and socks, polos and shirts, but they can wear a sweater on top.
School policy is that ONLY room parents may be in the classrooms during set up and party time, and no younger siblings or pets may be in the classroom. Thank you for your cooperation.
Christmas Program
Our annual Christmas Program will take place on December 19th at 6pm in the church. Each class is rehearsing special songs to perform at the Christmas Program. In addition, each year, our older students present a beautiful Nativity scene to help us reflect on what Christmas is truly about, followed by a medley of songs sung by all of the students together on the altar. They always do a great job and really help put us in the holiday mood.
Teachers will give instructions next week on what the students are to wear. Students are to be in their classrooms at 5:30 that evening. The program begins promptly at 6pm.
December 19th is a 2pm dismissal day and there will be NO AFTER SCHOOL CARE available on that day so that students can go home to rest and get ready for the program.
Our Christmas vacation begins when the Christmas program ends!
Students, Faculty, and staff are on holiday from December 20th through January 2nd.
School resumes on January 3, 2018.
Annual Appeal
Our annual appeal is still going strong. Thank you to all families who have given any amount. We have some very generous donors and have currently raised over $5000, but we are expecting 100% participation from all families. The first class to have 100% participation will earn a pizza lunch and free dress passes.
Please send your donation in an envelope marked 'Annual Appeal' with your oldest child's name and grade on the front. THANK YOU! (Please share our annual appeal video!)
