Japan, Religion, and the Dissolution of the Unification Church: A Conversation

At a symposium in Tokyo on October 1, the case was discussed within the broader framework of different approaches to religion and “cults” in Japan and the West.

“Bitter Winter” has covered the days following the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on July 8, 2022, and the Japanese controversy about the Unification Church, now called the Family Federation of World Peace and Unification. Abe was killed by a man called Tetsuya Yamagami, who claimed his mother went bankrupt in 2022 because of her excessive donations to the Unification Church. The assassin intended to punish Abe for his support of organizations connected with the religious movement.

Successful completion of Ikogretim Elementary School Expansion Project

"They are in a safe Classroom to find a bright Future.’’

On Sept 28, 2023, the Ikogretim Elementary School in Antakya Hatay received two new classrooms, much needed by the families that were affected by the devastating earthquake of last year. The Education Director, Mr. Mehmet Ali Arslan, the School Principal, Mrs. Tugce Akduman, and the excited children were all there at the ceremony to hand over the addition. Mr. Binod Paudel, Director of the Family Federation for World Peace Turkey, was there to represent the donors. The Area Education director gives his special appreciation to the Family Federation for World Peace Türkiye and Youth and Student for Peace, who jointly coordinated the project. Currently, 45 students are happily attending classes in the classrooms.

On 6th February 2023 at 4 am, the southeast part of Türkiye was devastated by a massive earthquake. According to government official statistics, more than 50 thousand people lost their lives. Thousands of houses are still collapsing. The Ikogretim Elementary School is in the middle of a village near the destroyed area. Many families relocated to this village, expanding its population greatly. Because of the increase of children and the inadequate facilities of the village, it was impossible for the children to continue their education.

February 8 - 11, 2024

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We are happy to announce the dates of our next international in-person workshop on internal and practical guidance for the Matching & Blessing. It will take place from February 8 – 11, 2024, either in Slovakia or in Germany. The program is designed for Blessed Children and Jacob children aged 18 and older. Our focus is providing helpful and relevant education – Level up ©.

The Blessing is not just a ceremony to get through; it is a lifestyle we need to grow into. Preparation matters, so how can we create more space for God to guide us through the matching into a blessed life? How can we make an effort to make good things happen in this precious area of our lives? Essentially, we want to offer a focused program that can help you to understand better where you are now and how you can move forward. Alongside this, we want to offer the opportunity to receive personal input in a supportive environment.
