Well y’all, here we are — the dog days of summer. It’s hot, it’s dry, and school is just around the corner. That means school zones are back, routines are shifting, and the energy in town changes with it. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, student, or business owner, August always seems to come with a mix of relief and urgency.
Relief that cooler weather should be on the horizon (eventually).
Urgency because the second half of the year tends to fly by.
At the Chamber, we’re moving full steam ahead. The new 2025 Pottsboro Business Directories are out — so keep your eyes peeled and grab a few extras to share. They’re a great way to support our local business community and connect the dots for anyone new to the area.
We’re also deep in Frontier Day planning. If you’re looking for a way to plug in, this is the time. We’re accepting vendor signups, parade entries, and always in need of volunteers and sponsors. This is one of Pottsboro’s biggest community celebrations, and we want it to reflect all the good that’s happening here.
As always, our mission is to grow a strong local economy, support business success, and build community pride. That’s only possible because of you. Every membership, every event, every handshake — it adds up to momentum.
Enjoy these last few weeks of summer. Hydrate, take a breath, and let’s make the most of what’s ahead.
See you out there,
Nathan Knottingham
