The Veterans Community Living Center at Homelake was opened in 1891 as the original Soldiers and Sailors Home for the State of Colorado and has been serving veterans and their families for 135 years. Homelake is the only Veterans Community Living Center in Colorado offering two levels of care: a skilled nursing home and domiciliary cottages that provide independent living with assistance. These options allow residents to transfer between levels of care while remaining in a familiar environment. Life enhancing friendships can be maintained, and couples with different needs for care can still reside on the same campus.
Homelake honors its veterans with compassionate and dignified care. Our 60 bed skilled nursing home provides long term care, short-term rehabilitation and end-of-life care. Our 48 domiciliary cottages each have a living room, bedroom, bathroom, large closet and a kitchenette with a microwave and small refrigerator.
Veterans who had active duty service with a discharge other than dishonorable, veteran's spouses and surviving spouses and Gold-Star parents who meet medical criteria are eligible for admission to our home.
