211 DAY

On February 11th, United Way’s all across the country recognize and bring awareness to United Way’s 211 program.


2-1-1 is a free, confidential, easy-to-remember phone number connecting people to essential community resources. In addition to connecting callers to local resources, United Way’s 211 also tracks caller needs and uses that information to analyze trends, such as, identifying gaps in services. Referral specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help provide information and resources.

TAX PREPARATION ASSISTANCE

**AARP Tax Preparation Assistance Available**

United Way’s 211 program is now scheduling appointments for free tax preparation assistance for low- to moderate-income individuals, focusing on those aged fifty and older. Trained volunteers will help eligible individuals electronically file Homestead Credit and/or Wisconsin and Federal Income Tax returns. To find out if you qualify or to schedule an appointment, please call United Way’s 211 by dialing 2-1-1 or at 1-877-947-2211.
