The next Business After Hours Networking Mixer will take place at Pilat Graphic Design in Waterloo, on Wednesday November 18, 2020. Unless otherwise noted, Business After Hours Networking Mixers are held on the second Wednesday of each month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The purpose and goal is to help increase awareness of Chamber Members by offering guests the opportunity to visit and experience the business location and to see or sample the property’s products and services. Member Milestone Celebration
|
The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a Member Milestone Celebration for Lattimore Physical Therapy on Thursday October 15. The event celebrated the new space for the recently opened Geneva office, now located at 283 West North Street.
Formerly Finger Lakes Physical Therapy and Sports Care, Lattimore purchased and took over two office locations in Penn Yan and Geneva after Jim Modera retired from his well-known practice after three decades.
A family-oriented company that was founded in Rochester in 1992, Lattimore Physical Therapy now includes a network of 27 clinics that spans across five counties throughout the Finger Lakes region. They are owned and operated by 11 Physical Therapists.
At the Chamber’s Milestone Celebration, attendees were able to tour the new space and interact with staff and owners. Following a brief presentation, a group photo was taken with Lattimore’s management team, Chamber leadership and various committee members.
Lattimore Physical Therapy’s new Geneva office will be managed by Clinical Director Joshua Mannigan, who specializes in manual therapy and is the only Maitland Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist in the Finger Lakes Region. Josh brings over 15 years of experience to the Geneva community.

November 4, 2020, Romulus, NY- The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail (CLWT) is launching a “Wine of the Month Series” campaign to showcase the different wines the region excels in. Each month, participating Cayuga Lake Wine Trail member wineries will feature a different vinifera wine ranging from Riesling to Cabernet Franc and anything in between.
In October, the participating member wineries celebrated Chardonnay and explored the different variations of oaked vs unoaked. This month, they bring Riesling up to the plate. The CLWT Website features history on why the Finger Lakes excels in Riesling, what makes it so delicious, and even has some food pairing suggestions. The website also lists the different offers and promotions you can find at the participating wineries throughout the entire month of November. Find out more about the Wine of the Month Series and participating winery offers at: https://www.cayugawinetrail.com/monthly-promotions/
“Riesling is a personal favorite of mine, and I haven’t met one that has let me down!” Exclaims Katherine Chase, Executive Director of the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. “Though my tastes tend to run to the drier Rieslings, I like it on all sides of the sweetness spectrum. The fruit forward nature of it is what I love the most about it, but because of that, I hear people far too often classifying it as a sweet wine and refusing to try it. I hope this promotion will guide some folks into trying it and seeing that, yes, it IS fruit forward, but the residual sugar is low, which doesn’t give it the same sweetness factor that, say, a fruit wine would have.” Each of the participating wineries are offering their visitors a little something different, ranging from complimentary Riesling tastings to discounts off purchases.
All the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail wineries are open, safe, and remain in compliance with the various state rules and regulations. All tastings are seated, snacks are served with the tastings or flights, and additional cleaning routines have been set in place. For further information on individual winery offerings, the Wine Trail has many up-to-date resources on its website to help you plan your trip: www.CayugaWineTrail.com.

Seneca Lake Wine Trail Receives Traffic Safety Award
Nontraditional partnership with the NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee
results in award-winning consumer campaign
Watkins Glen, NY – The Seneca Lake Wine Trail has been named a 2020 New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) Partners For Safety award recipient. The GTSC started the Partners For Safety awards program in 1996 to recognize voluntary contributions made by corporations, companies, and organizations outside of government in the effort to prevent highway crashes and injuries, promote traffic safety, and make New York State a safer place to live.
The nomination of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail was made by GTSC Program Representative Maureen Kozakiewicz to recognize the organization’s willingness to develop a collaborative message in the form of a point of sale tip card reminding wine trail visitors to taste responsibly. Through this nontraditional partnerships, the “Because We Care” campaign was created to promote highway safety messaging to those 31 member wineries producing in and around the Seneca Lake Wine Trail.
Executive Director Brittany Gibson shares, “Safety is a top priority for the Trail organization as well as all of its member wineries. The “Because We Care” campaign provided an outlet to share tips with visitors to promote responsible visitation to Seneca Lake wineries. This campaign underscores the other safety-focused activities of the Trail and its member wineries including: promoting the use of transportation services and designated drivers, providing non-alcoholic beverages and snack items for purchase, staff training aimed at responsible service and recognizing (and addressing) intoxication, to name just a few. I am so thankful to Maureen for her creativity, to the Trail membership for embracing this campaign, and visitors for ensuring they are exploring the trail safely.” The messaging on the tip card also lives on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail website (https://senecalakewine.com/5-tasting-tips/).
