WHAT WE ARE ABOUT

ILLINOIS SMALLMOUTH ALLIANCE

The Illinois Smallmouth Alliance (ISA) is an organization of catch and release smallmouth anglers whose primary concern is to preserve the smallmouth bass and its habitat for future generations. ISA members are ethical, talented smallmouth fishermen with a passion for the environment and the proliferation of our sport. Participation in the ISA is a good way to keep your finger on the pulse of the latest techniques and concerns regarding smallmouth bass in Illinois. In a nutshell, ISA members set a good example for fishermen and the sport of fishing.

We welcome you to this group and we hope you’ll volunteer to lend your talents and time to further enhance our efforts. Cleanups, meetings, sport shows, water willow plantings and outings are just a few ways you can help.

Even if you don’t like to participate, just by continuing to be a member your dues help to enhance and preserve smallmouth bass for years to come in Illinois.

CONSERVATION

1. We affirm the value of smallmouth bass fishing and the right to continue to enjoy and participate in that heritage.

2. We strongly affirm the value of….

ISA WATER WILLOW PROGRAM

A HUGE SUCCESS

Why Water Willows?

We also care about our waters and are involved in river cleanups, habitat restoration, smallmouth regulations and more. As an example, you may have seen some of our 180 catch and release signs we put up in the last few years on our local rivers.

As stream fishermen, we usually get a first hand (down and dirty) look at our river environment. As opposed to driving by or over the water as most people do we're actually standing in it….

MEETINGS & OUTINGS

Each region also hosts meetings throughout the year. You will hear speakers from the IDNR, conservation police officers, local guides, biologists, and others talking about fishing and conservation.

You can attend our outings and learn from some of the best fishermen in Illinois. The ISA has members who are very successful fishermen and they are willing to share. They know spots, techniques, presentations and even where to park! So if you're with us for the first time you'll know where to go, what to bring, and be able to fish and learn from these guys on their home waters. Talk about a great learning experience! Even if you're a "seasoned" fisherman there is always something new to learn.

We hope you enjoyed this sample newsletter showcasing just some of the things the ISA and the

proud ISA Members do.

Our members already know of all the benefits of joining. You'll learn a wealth of information geared toward all aspects of smallmouth fishing.
