RxP Welcomes Blue Ridge Free Clinic as the newest AMP Clinic Partner
Rx Partnership is excited to welcome Blue Ridge Free Clinic located in Harrisonburg, Virginia to our network of clinic partners!
The all-volunteer Blue Ridge Free Clinic opened its doors on April 12th, 2021 in response to the ongoing need for free clinic services in the Harrisonburg-Rockingham community after the closure of the Harrisonburg Rockingham Free Clinic at the end of 2020. Blue Ridge Free Clinic is a “no barriers” clinic for those that have no other healthcare options or do not know how to access their available healthcare options. In their first 6 weeks, they provided direct care and care navigation to more than 100 vulnerable community members.
According to Lynne Eggert, Nurse Practitioner and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Blue Ridge Free Clinic:
"Through the [RxP] AMP Program, we have been able to help our patients with chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and COPD access medications that allow them to live and work without needing to seek emergency medical care to manage their conditions. It is a certainty that these community members would not have been able to afford to pay for their chronic medications without the AMP program. We at the Blue Ridge Free Clinic count it a privilege to serve our community in this way and are grateful for partnerships with entities like Rx Partnership that allow us to better serve our neighbors."

RxP Don Price Award of Excellence
It gives us great pleasure to announce that Lisa Baker, VCU School of Pharmacy, Class of 2021, has been chosen as the inaugural recipient of the Don Price Award of Excellence.
The Don Price Award of Excellence was created in memory of Don Price, who served on the Rx Partnership Board of Directors from 2016 until his passing on January 3, 2021. Don showed exceptional dedication to medication access for vulnerable Virginians. He was a vocal advocate for Rx Partnership and shared his passion about our mission whenever he had the opportunity.
This award is given to a pharmacy student who embraces making a difference in our community and shows a passion for medication access.
Lisa worked on several key projects for RxP during her rotation with the organization in 2021 and demonstrated a clear commitment to making medications more accessible for individuals in need. We are confident that Lisa will thrive as a pharmacist helping her patients!
