Not a note from Rev. Wynn...LOL
"Still Triggered...Maybe More Triggered"... Anonymous
Soooo, on a Sunday that Rev. David was triggered to begin with (last Sunday) I walked past his office, post "glitchy" live streaming event (thanks to FB); and heard some dramatic solitary lamenting oozing through the door. There were words like “apocalyptic”, “betrayal,” and, “malfeasance” being hurtled around…at least those are the words I can report. David had one question for God and let God know that he “HAD EARS TO HEAR” by the way. Want to hear the question? I suspect that he might share it with us in a dramatic Scarlet O’Hara in  Gone With the Wind  clutching the last rotting carrot while proclaiming “As God as my witness, I shall never go hungry again” fashion…I mean…for realz. Join us on Sunday! It’s going to be…well, authentic!

P.S. admission is free, soooo...

25 Things To Do Instead Of Worrying

MCC Resources
Holy One, our Creator and Source,
Your people are hurting and tired.
We are angry and heartbroken.
We turn to you, knowing that you are with us in this struggle.
You sustain us, and with your help, we will not fail.

Lover of our souls, we need to feel your presence.
Pour out your inspiration;
Let it cover us, fill us, and lead us through.
We desire your kin-dom come.
We strive for your will done.

Maker of good things, we give you thanks,
For you have worked wonders, and
You have wonders yet in store.
We praise you!
We trust in you.
We turn to you.
Lift us up.
Hold us close.
Give us breath.

Amen.

I t is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of  Rev. Vickey Gibbs . Our hearts are broken and in shock. We extend our love and condolences to her wife, Cassandra, their children Cara and Ariel, and beloved grandchild, Xavier. Our love and comfort surround the staff and members of Resurrection MCC in Houston, Texas, USA where she served so faithfully and to all who knew her, worked with her and loved her. To the best of our knowledge, Vickey is the first MCC Clergyperson to succumb to COVID-19.

Rev. Vickey’s long relationship with MCC is noteworthy and distinguished. Known for her planning, innovation, and attention to detail, she had a passion for justice and equity. She worked tirelessly to invite, push and pull others into conversation and action surrounding justice for all, especially those on the margins. At the time of her passing she was serving as the Associate Pastor of Resurrection MCC in Houston Texas, USA, having started this work in November 2015.
You may read in Rev. Vickey’s own words her poem she wrote for a recent Transgender Day of Remembrance.

God,
of all the vast varieties of humankind,
Help us to move beyond
the exclusiveness
of an either / or mentality
to the inclusiveness
of an all and every
way of thinking.
Move us beyond binary definitions
to the mystery and complexity of
Your infinite creativity
and creation.
As we pause to remember those
senselessly
Murdered
because of their
all encompassing humanity
open hearts that need to hear
souls that need to know
and minds that need to see
that there are
no limits
to You
nor Your creation.
