The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its February Membership Meeting on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The breakfast session was held at Maggiano's Banquets in Oak Brook, IL.
The program featured industry updates and a guest presentation by Jef Fagan, NECA SVP Labor Relations & Risk Management. His presentation topics included: Incentive pay, per diem vs. bonuses, proper payment requirements, among other areas. We thank Jef for his time with the presentation, as well as facilitating the extensive Q & A portion.

Electric Golf Club Dinner Dance
February 22, 2025
The Electric Golf Club Dinner Dance was held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Westin Chicago Northwest in Itasca, IL. The event was highlighted by a special Awards Ceremony for Scholarship winners from the Electric Association (EA) and affiliated scholarship programs, as well as the awarding of the JP Simons Award to Steven Witz, Four Gen Holdings, Inc. and Continental Electrical Construction Company.

The NECA Future Leaders Conference was held on February 19 – 21, 2025 at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville, TN. The program was moderated by Aaron Kelley, Director of Government Affairs, Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter, NECA and introduced by Lt. General Ronald Bailey. 15 members were able to participate with the program.

This training session highlights the vital connection between the newly elevated NFPA 70B: Standard for Electrical Equipment Maintenance and NFPA 70E: Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, focusing on how these two standards work in tandem to foster safer work environments. Electrical equipment maintenance is often a significant contributor to electrical hazards and incidents. The updated NFPA 70B provides a comprehensive framework to help employers and employees understand the pivotal role proper equipment maintenance plays in achieving compliance with NFPA 70E.
