Our recent Fall Social, held at the Ellinwood Country Club in Athol on November 2nd, is an event we look forward to with much anticipation every year, in spite of the fact it signals the end of our active season. This year was especially memorable for two reasons. For the first time ever we literally ran out of room and, much to our dismay, could not accommodate everyone who wanted to buy a ticket to the Social. This event grows every year as the word spreads that it's an evening of great company, great food and some great deals! Being a "victim of our success" is a good problem to have. And, hopefully everyone who couldn't get a ticket last year will be among the first to purchase their tickets for next year's Social when the time comes because we missed you!
Many thanks to
for organizing this event,
for taking on the daunting task of keeping track of reservations and ticket sales,
Sue Ellen Mowcomber
for creating the beautiful table centerpieces,
for serving up yet another delicious meal,
for being our entertaining Master of Ceremonies and
Quabbin Valley Auction
for donating their services to host our live auction.
And... speaking of the auction, that brings up the second reason why this Fall Social was memorable. The live and silent auction at the Social has evolved into a very important fundraiser for NEECA, with all proceeds directly benefiting the park's development. We couldn't be more pleased to announce that, thanks to the generosity of the folks who donated items and the Social attendees that bid vigorously on those items,
this year we made a profit of $4,215.00!
This is the biggest profit we have ever made on the auction and we want to thank everyone who helped make this event such a resounding success.
