Pastor Howard recently walked through the Pearly Gates. He started his ministry at the same time I started mine. We were brothers in the battle.
Alvin Howard saw the need to offer an unwed mother's home to women who had other children. He spent over forty years ministering to thousands of lost souls, guiding them to the Cross and helping them get their lives together. The ministry, His Nesting Place in Long Beach, was and is a lighthouse in every way. I recommended women we had rescued up here in Northern California to check out His Nesting Place for their journey into right living.
My team and I recently spent a day with Alvin and his wonderful wife on their compound, where we were treated with love and respect for our mutual ministries.
His ministry continues, although I will miss this fellow warrior.

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they be sent?
As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of Peace, who bring glad tidings of good things...All day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and contrary people."

George and Carolyn Laio, above right, were fellow warriors with Project Truth until they moved to Hawaii. Recently, Carolyn was arrested outside the Honolulu Planned Parenthood, a very busy killing center.
Carolyn called me for encouragement and we decided to travel to the island of Oahu to train some volunteer warriors, to encourage those in the fight, and to visit University of Hawaii and Honolulu Junior College.
What a great outreach with some great Christians in a godless land.
George and Carolyn were great hosts, along with their church. Carolyn's arrest was dismissed when the police realized there was no justification for the complaint by a disgruntled woman who didn't like hearing the truth.
We spent a week delivering the truth among the Hawaiians.
The University had a perfect quad for us, under a huge tree with several benches. The weather was great, and it wasn't until the next week that the floods came. Maybe we should have built an ark while we were there.
| Carolyn, above, loves to engage college students. Edgar, below, from Southern California, joined us for the week and was a great addition to our team. He has a ministry down south just like Project Truth. | |
Above, Hannah loves to grant interviews with podcasters and social media gurus. Our message winds up all over the island with the help of our counterparts, thinking they are going to make us look bad.
Truth never looks bad.
| Matt, above, had a great conversation with an extreme leftist English teacher at the junior college. When the teachers dare to engage us, it doesn't go well because the teachers are not used to students who use logic and reason to present their position. We have also found professors to be bullies in their demeanor. | |
Donna and I tried to rescue the students from their echo-chambered, government-controlled college. Our challenges bother the liberal students when we point out this reality. The students are hard-pressed to deny they are in a government-controlled educational system.
When we show them the fallacies of their arguments, they go away bothered by the pebbles in their shoes we placed there.
One such nugget we use happens when we hear them repeat the claim, "It's a fetus, not a baby." Our response is to ask the student what is the definition of the Latin word "fetus."
Students have no idea what the word means, so we encourage them to Google it before we continue the discussion. The student reluctantly discovers that the word "fetus" only means "offspring," or "little one."
We explain to the student that pro-abortion advocates try to dehumanize the "little one" in the womb to justify killing the preborn child.
After showing, in a respectful way, the false premises a student uses to support child sacrifice, their walls are torn down for the infusion of truth.
Below, Ted, Beth's husband, joined us for the college mission.
| Below, Beth and I engage two lesbians determined to deny our worldview. Beth's encounter was more difficult, but my lost friend, who was quick to point out her lifestyle, seemed more willing to listen. The angrier one eventually pulled her "partner" away before too much truth could take root. | |
Kelly, below, was introduced to us by Carolyn as the woman version of me. We were a force to be reckoned with on the university campus that day. Our team loved her more than their Don version.
There is a good core of believers in Oahu who have passion and boldness for the Kingdom. We enjoyed coming along side them for a short time.
| Below, a bully student tried to steal one of our effective signs. He didn't see the police stationed around our display as he ran with my sign. While attempting to bolt between the buildings, the thief tripped and fell. The police arrested him and handled the situation professionally. Students are either kicked off the campus or suspended when they violate the policies of the campus. | There was a wonderful homeschool family, above, whose children were bolder than most adults I know, wanting to save babies and reach college students. They were a blessing to us. | Carole and Beth were able to minister to a woman, above, struggling in her life and being lured into the killing place for another service. They got her to leave and do the right thing, not giving her business to the nefarious PP. | A first for us, taking our outreach to a Hawaiian high school. It's great to see students walking home reading our literature. The police on the island were chill, both at the colleges and outside the high school. Our trip included the Hawaii Five-O experience. | | Back to the Devil's College | | |
Never a dull moment visiting Diablo Valley College every few years. The atmosphere is testy, with some very troubled students. The police had to maintain a constant presence to protect our team.
There were many questions for us from the students Their questions were met with clear love and truthfulness.
The variety of students included the seemingly male student, below, posing as a woman. He interrupted Matt's conversation with the student in red, throwing out the accusation that our people were not worth talking to. The other student looked at the unstable tall trans-illusioned man and said, "That's retarded. I want to talk with these people to learn more about what they believe." The man in the dress was taken back by his fellow student's response and made a few more incoherent comments before walking away. Often these people are bullies and difficult to engage with one on one.
| | The police on this campus have a very difficult task, so we try to pray for their effectiveness when dealing with disrespectful students. At Diablo, they kept the peace by taking a few students away from our display who were looking for trouble. | | Kenneth, above, from The White Rose Resistance, loves joining us on the battlefield. He frequently travels around the West Coast to be in the thick of the foes. | |
Mike, above, middle, and some of his friends from a Concord church joined us for the action at Diablo. He is new to the college outreach and loved it.
Below, AJ from White Rose, was in town and enjoyed the Project Truth battle with the darkness. He travels all over the country, changing hearts towards the sanctity of human life.
| | |
Bernard, above, continues to confidently share the Gospel on the campuses and will soon be able to do more when he retires.
Below, Pastor Dave breaks away from his church responsibilities for some serious challenges from the lost lives in the echo chambers.

As we soon finish our Spring College tour, I am so thankful to my Project Truth team. Each of you make our effectiveness possible. Together we have never had a bad day on a campus. That happens because of our prayer warriors and foot soldiers in sync on the college battlefields watching God at work.
Matt, Carole, Beth, Lee, Linda, Ed, Donna, Bernard, Hannah, John, Kenneth, Mike, Dave, Ethan, Addie, Edgar, Jacob, Jarod. You are "vessels for noble purposes."
