Trues Stories About
The Morganza Spillway Eagle
First Story:
1995 Story Was Shared byTerry Jones
Obtained From The Archives of The Advocate
Second Story Was Written By Reporter, Terry Jones
We See The Eagle, Baby Eagles, Nest , and Tree As Major Tourist Attractions
The Story Behind Montana Is Amazing
|
|
Could this eagle be Montana and his offspring? This information is uncertain, but the probability is strong that this could be his off-spring. Since Montana was released by LSU and the United States Wildlife and Fisheries, an eagle has been constantly spotted in a tree that is located in the Morganza Spillway; off to the right just before you cross the Morganza Spillway Locks. People come from everywhere to view the eagles, babies, and nest while traveling down La. Hwy. 1. going toward the northern end of Pointe Coupee Parish. We think it is Montana and/or offspring and the eagle, baby eagles, tree, and, nest are truly tourist attractions and since saved and released by LSU, we say they are educated LSU eagles and die hard
"LSU Tiger" fans.

Second Follow Up Story By Terry Jones;
Relocation of bald eagle may threaten tourism to Pointe Coupee village; 'he's our mascot'
There is only one tree standing an it is slowly is perishing and we don't want him to relocate because the eagle, eagle's nest, eagle's offspring, and tree are all part of the tourist attraction.
This was the story written by Reporter Terry Jones at The Advocate this past week.
Thanks to The Advocate we can share these stories and know the history of the Morganza Spillway eagle.
Please view the video below. Many tourist are attracted and take pictures or videos of the nest from the road while passing and count the babies in the nest.
